I am new to this series. From what I read on these forums, Road to Hill 30 sold something like 2 million copies.
I picked up the sequel, Earned in Blood.
There is absolutely no one playing it online (I am patched to 1.03).
Moreover the game is pretty much just bad, IMO. All I see is references to how this kicks COD's ***, and that ain't happening.
Mission after mission in EIB it is like a shooting gallery routine. And this game-freeze god's eye tactical view or whatever is simply unrealistic and utterly immersion-breaking.
The sound quality in EIB is really bad. The menu music is patchy and breaks up navigating from one screen to another. And the Unreal graphics are not all that great, in fact the character models up close really suck for a game released in 2005.
My question is this - what is there to honestly look forward to? Having never played RTH30 and being aghast at what EIB is, this looks like more UberSoft pile-driving of product.
What am I missing here? Is there some salvation promise from the developers of the new game? I really wanted to get into this title being really big on WWII games, however BIA is another major letdown from UberSoft.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

you have to play the game with an open mind, it seems like you had your mindset on this way before you put the game in, then looked for every detail you disliked instead of every detail you liked, thanks for posting and im sure youll sway plenty of ppl with your anti BIA campaign<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Why would I go out and purchase a game and bother to install it with an aim to hate it? I don't have to buy a game to do that.
The game was terrible and a waste of hard disk space.

Why do you think someone bought a PS3 only to smash it in front of everyone as soon as they got out of the store? You're entitled to your opinion, and I'm not going to raise a fuss. What you describe is the way I felt when I bought COD2. I gave the series another chance and got COD3, and I'm absolutely amazed by the MP. I'm still disgusted with SP, but that's not a big part of the game. So maybe you should give BIa a chance and get Road to Hill 30. It's much better than EIB and even though noone plays MP on it, the SP is very engrossing and fun, at least a hell of alot more fun than EIB's.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I agree with you regarding the online issues; there are very few online players because the multiplayer mode was severely hosed by Ubi/Gearbox. I have no idea what they were thinking when they built the multiplyer interface. Its very archaic, featureless, and not user friendly.
As for the sound and graphics complaints that you made; maybe your PC just isn't up to the task. I've always found the graphics and sound in BIA to be top notch.
