have 1 question, if i will buy german version of homm5 - will be there possibility to switch all texts to english (names, spells, discriptions, story etc. (the language of talks in the movies is not importamt)) or not?

i think this kind of games is better in english. and buying english version of the homm5 in germany will take some additional money and time .(and previous german versions of homm games i bought - dont have possibility to switch to english)

tnx.

p.s. searched forums but did not find any info.
sorry if it was discussed before.

Check the prices of Amazon.co.uk. You might be surprised to find that the bottom line shows basically the same price (including shipment costs) in Euro than buying the German verson from Amazon.de (where shipment is for free). This way you'll get the game in English with English manual and so on.

Back to your question - there was one guy around here that posted that localized versions would offer the choice of playing the game in English too, but I haven't found a concrete formal confirmation so I wouldn't count on that.

Hope that helps. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Generally, there won't be localized version for each country, only localized version for certain areas (EU, US, Eastern Europe, SE Asia...). The standard EU version will come with 5 languages included - EN/FR/GR/IT/SP - so one can choose in which of these 5 languages wants the game to be installed.

The German version will allow playing the game in English.
This time, though, the German version will be worth it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Does anyone know if there is a Turkish version? And whether it's too late to make such a translation?

I'm sort of a pessimist when it comes to localized versions so I will go for Amazon.co.uk, just in case http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I've had bad experiences in the past with localizations http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Erm, no offense meant Joker http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

EDIT: While on the topic - do NOT buy Oblivion in German, EVER! Trust me!

i did not mean that translation would be bad. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
just a lot of fantasy terms and names look better in their native language (imho)
however i will give a chance to this german translation too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I agree with you, p4eev. I've never ever played such a game in German (and by the way, even most adventures suck big time). With fantasy games the trouble is, most of the time nobody has an idea what they are doing because the translators don't play the game (or if so, they have no idea what they are doing). Things tend to look stupid, sound stupid and have an air of wrongness about them.
This time, though, it might be a bit more fun, especially because we are ahead of the original in some places.
For example, the Charge ability of the Knight has been changed, as you probably know, from a free attack (that was named Holy Charge) to something like a retaliation that will be pulled off, when the so protected unit is affected. That's why Holy Charge was renamed (aptly) to Retaliation Strike. However, the ÃÅ“ber-ability of the Knight is STILL named Unstoppable Charge (which isn't very apt). In German Retaliation Strike is Gerechte Strafe and Unstoppable Charge is Racheengel, and if you see the picture that comes with it, you'll see why.
And of course creatures don't have silly names anymore!
