am i a glitcher if i grab a merc after he tries to charge on a hack

im sure you all know the bug, but its not like its ever done on purpose... and some fairly well respected members of the community in a fairly well respected clan called me a glitcher cause of this, and didnt believe that it was an accident

i mean, a merc charges you while youre hacking so instinctivly you try to run - sometimes you get KO'd sometimes you dont, its just the luck of the draw... but when you dont, do you honestly expect to not capitalize on that oppourtunity?

but anyways, im not gonna name this team but they probably know who they are - and they post here, so ill just say im not impressed... bailing when people who can give you a challenge join and *****ing every time you get grabbed or shot etc isnt something you expect to find in the higher tier clans

it is glitching, but ike you said it's not purposeful and isn't easy to do it everytime. tbh, if they were a good team they would know not to charge a hacking spy and instead give them a hs or shoot, then charge.

I can honestly see both sides of the arguement, but in all honesty, until they fix it, it's part of the game. Any Vet should know better than to tackle a spy when he's in animation. Using it against noobs or something though is I guess another story.

I won't lie, if a vet tackles me while I'm in animation, you can bet he's about to get his neck snapped. Just like I'd expect to get mine snapped if I were silly enough to do that myself(Of COURSE I'd be pissed about it later though, but not at the spy, at myself for letting it happen).

If a noob does it, and he's a decent guy, then I'll let him slide.

LoL. I must admit, I TRY not to do it, but sometimes it's just instinctual. Like "oh c*** I'm still up there's the merc grab!....wait, that wasn't very fair. Oh well, too late."

Yeah, it's common knowledge, so anyone who is experienced in SC and still tackles a spy who's hacking or placing a bomb deserves his neck broken, but just like me grabbing the merc after it above, sometimes the tackle is instinctual (if that's even a word).

Escaping rail grabs is also 'part of the game' does that mean its legit and if i'm playing a 'vet' they should just have to deal with it. Grabbing a merc that charged you is wrong, just run away, u don't have to grab them, thats just you taking advantage of a glitch, when you should be DEAD!

there are ways around everything. if you dont wanna get grabbed after charging a diffusing spy, just shoot the spy 1st.

if a merc is lame enough to glitch outta rail grabs, more than likely he wont b afraid to get near a rail if chasing a spy. so the next time just have your parnter ss the merc as soon as the other spy starts the pull anime. - then you can laugh at his dumb ***

i really see no point in complaining about crappy bugs in this game cuz ubi is too lame to fix em. if you really love this game, you will find ways to adapt and overcome any situation.

Today, I got rail grabbed, and started perssing fire and jump, being wierd, and got out. Then was called a cheater. Is that the glitch people do? The spy didn't come up, he just got back to the position of hanging.

Something similar happened to me once. It was purely accidental. I thought I was far enough and tried to shoot the head of the spy. But I got ledgegrabbed. While I was being killed, I kept shooting and killed the spy.

Well, grabbing a merc that has just charged your *** is undoubtfully a glitch. However, it is never a problem to pop a bullet in the hacking spy before you initiate a charge, and any merc who's not used to that already should expect to have their neck snapped.

Those glitches are so annoying, once a merc flew over the ledge and hit me in the head when I succeeded to ledge grab him.

Btw, is a glitcher someone who does it on purpose or is it just someone who uses a glitch?
Because I've encountered numerous glitchers who use the soft landing glitch all the time when they are spy.

I was actually playing with Nosis/G.Zuz today and we were discussing the instance. We were on Bank (gosh I hate that map) and this one player kept doing something similar. He would wait behind a box/crate/thing, then I'd charge him. Right when I'd charge him he would climb over the box and jump me.

I couldn't beserk, having just charged his ***, leaving me completely vulnerable. What should have been an easy kill turned into a Neutralization, and subsequently my death.

Unlike the hacking animation glitch, this one is ON PURPOSE. One guy pulled it on me 2 or 3 times in a row. What's the community's opinion on this?

If someone keeps pulling the same trick on you. Maybe you should learn from YOUR mistake.

The goggle glitch is like standard now, and I actually found out how to do it relatively late. I was just always like 'wth, why doesn't anyone else get stunned on station?!?!?' I've never had anyone say something from me or anyone else using it, and I've never objected to them using it, so I dunno. What do you all think about this one?

Its a glitch. Shouldn't be used. Simple as that. However its so often used by basically everyone, its like you said, standard. I use it. Doesn't mean its right. However its not as serous as the animation glitch, it doesn't result in something that could potentially change the outcome of the game.

Actually the google glitch CAN change the outcome zed, speccialy on station, you jump glitch, no stun time you save ya *** from that nade, in other situations you jump on a merc, you miss and since you jumped from a high spot you get stunned, and then you glitch you roll aside and the merc misses you, but as you said, everyone uses it, I use it all the time, but its just something i do withouth thinking about it, I just do it

Yes, eventually, but that doesn't change the fact that the maneuver is a rediculously cheap glitch... done entirely on purpose. Unlike the goggle glitch, exploitation of this one is potentially game altering, as it was for me.

I use the goggle glitch too, but not because I'm saying to myself, "C'mon, cheat!" It's become second nature.

I didn't even realise the goggle trick was as glitch. Ever since PT i'd just learned to do it to break my fall and when i realised what it was i just noticed myself doing it without thinking. I've did it for so long it's just habit as i'd just learned to do it.

Ontopic: Charging a spy while hacking should of been a lesson learned a long time ago in my opinion. Just learn and adapt to it as it's the only way to improve.

I realize that sometimes it's instinctive to grab after an animation glitch; I do it too. After that though, just knock them out.

I never intentionally take advantage of this glitch myself, because I think that glitching is cheating, and cheating is wrong (personal opinion; I don't expect people to agree). Am I gonna make a stink if someone else does it? Nope. I'm not here to teach ethics, I'm here to play CT.

From a negativity standpoint, anyone that uses the animation glitch to snap necks is totally lame and absolutely pathetic (-).

Well bogden you're in luck! Little did you know that we, the Chaos Theory Community, are getting a new and updated patch to SvM!!!HJ!H!HJ!!G!HFG!H First off, if a merc charges you and you try to glitch grab him, the merc can now do the "punch testicles" ability! After that, the spy gets a random disconnect and his/her computer shuts down. Then the harddrive catches on fire. Then you win.

Actually it could, if a merc sees you falling and charges you. What do you do? You mess around with that glitch and manuver away from his charge, resulting in another spy life saved.
