Hey guys,

I just got rainbow six vegas 2 and I'm doing quite bad in the versus. I am still working on completing the single player and I do pretty good in terrorist hunt. When playing versus though, it seems like it takes an entire clip to kill someone while other people can kill me with 2-3 bullets. Can anyone give me some pointers on how I can improve in versus?

Thanks

My humble opinion is that versus is for Elite xxx players only. I do not play versus. It has no interest to my eyes. Looks like Counter Strike http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif totally silly, kill and be killed. No skills, no strategy, no nothing. I hate it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Aside from people having 10 bar it could be connection based. The host of course having the best connection. There are a lot of "spongy" people that just seem to soak up bullets.

Advise wise Id say it's a lot to do with movement. There's a lot of hip firing going on and if you stand still to take aim someone will strafe and shoot you. Also dont weigh yourself down with too much armor.

If you really want in depth advice and helpful tips there's a nice long read here:

If you enjoy the game and like multi player don't give up on the on line play. There are decent host that try to make fair teams and wont kick "noobs". If you're having a miserable time in a room just leave and look for a new one. Or host one. Starting a TDM in Villa gets people in.

Thats my 2. If you like feel free to jump into any of mine

Hey,

Thank you both for the reply.

EDSTEROK, I really do enjoy the multiplayer aside from dieing a lot. Im hoping as I play more ill get used to it and learn some tricks so I can do better. I was really good at call of duty, but then again, thats a whole different type of game. Thanks for the link to the other post.

Peace

Generally speaking you have to tap your trigger and fire in bursts. I won't specify the difference between long/mid/short range shooting because you will pick it up as you play. As you tap your trigger pay attention to the crosshair. You want to be able to keep it in your control while firing. Tapping your trigger as opposed to laying down on it will help with this.

Another tihng you should try and implement into your game play is moving while firing, just as Edsterok said. Bunny hopping and straffing is an excellent way to stay mobile without getting shot. Also, if you sprint strafe (hold the sprint button and a left/right strafe) it will center your crosshair for you which can be helpful while in a gun battle.

If you also want to work on your team play make sure you aren't pushing up the map when you are down in people. Let your team respawn. This will stop the other team from getting through the holes in your setup for the simple reason that there won't be holes if you move with your team.

And lastly, my #1 rule is to never stay in the same spot for too long. Watching an area can be done from many different spots that all have their advantages.

Good Luck!

Every mode on this game is what you and the people youre playing with make it.You play thunt and believe it takes skill and strategy but to somebody like me thunt just passes the time and takes less skill than versus, well sometimes lol. The mechanics are the same in thunt and versus so if you see versus as being like cs then you cant look at thunt and see it as being any different.

ha, u say vegas 2 takes no skill? then u r truely ******ed. to me it is the shooter that takes the most skill besides counterstrike. this game aint COD. i would like to see u face me. i ranked 319 on leaderboards. now, back to tips, this game is all about reaction rate and controlling your fire rate/accuracy. practice those and u will be good in no time. if u want i can help u.

reread his post that's not what he said...and whole cares what your rank is?? Doesn't mean sh!t in an actual game...hell every 6 months or so the leader boards get all screwed up anyway. My stats have been reset twice in the last 9 months....oh but it always smarter to join a forum and then start talking smack to a long time member.

its to do with your armour probably and your gun!! the armour gets thicker through the game and soaks up more bullets and the guns get more powerfull aswell so you will just have 2 put up with that for the moment but then when you get a higher rank then you will get better stuff!!

your right the damage is alot lower in versus so its gonna be harder...

1)firstly wear minimum to no armour, heavy armour is for noobs
2)play around with the weapons until u find the best 1 for u some of my favs are(scar cqc,famas,552c,aks74u and for shotugns 870,spas 12)
3)lasers dont increase accuracy, dont use them
4)fire in very short bursts if u hold down the triiger u wont kill sh1t
5)vegas is a very very hard game and it takes along time to master...give it a few months and ull get good =]

hope this helps

ur the ***in noob.
ask anybody if no armour is better than full
or if lasers decrease accuracy

u **** thats T W A T BY THE WAY

oh and guess wat...dont use scopes either they make ur gun less accurate, bet ull say thats bull**** too

I wouldnt say its better to not wear armor, thats personal preference. After you factor in the lagtrocity that is RSV2 online then armor becomes a pretty good advantage. I dont wear it but I also dont let 12 year olds push the imaginary 'noob' rules over on me either. I could easily call everyone that hides in TPV noobs but I dont.

I don't have to ask anyone I ACTUALLY TESTED IT!! I'm not the only one you can search this forum and find at least 2 other people who found the same results I did. Since you know it all how about you perform a little experiment.

Play TH and eqip a UMP45 with a laser and lean against a wall and aim. Note the size of the circle. Now eqip the laser and watch the circle get bigger. Lasers increase accuracy from 80%-100% that's just a plain fact!

It is also clearly obvious that more armour lets you absorb more damage this is not rocket science anyone can figure this out. Do you think the devs just put armour in with no actual benefit?? Experiment #2: Take a shot from a sniper rifle with no armour and you will die. Then take the same shot with full armour and and live. This has been proven!

I don't play with a lot of armour but to say it doesn't help is absolutely wrong. If you have 2 equal players and one is wearing armour and the other isn't the armourless player is going to loose!

As far as scopes well...why bother you obviously have your own theory so I'll just say yes your wrong on that one to....but please feel free to try and prove me wrong by using bad grammar and cursing it makes you seem so much tougher...lol
