hi i keep reading in this forum people recomending others to increase there page file excuse my ignorance but what exactly does this do to the games performance i have 768mb of ram and let windows handle the size do i need to change this and if so what to thanks for any help

hi this is how u would change it in xp anyone no what it does for game performance see my post above Right click my computer-click properties-click advanced-under performance click settings and then click advanced-under virtual memory click change

I have done some testing on this and with my old system if I turned it off I got a small boost in fps but now with my new PC it's the other way around,funny things computers.

Also I have the swap file on it's own partition this looks to help also.

p4 2.8 533 fsb (sometimes O/C to 3.3ghz)
gigabyte 8INXP ultra mobo
1024 ddr 333
leadtek ti4200 O/C 310/545mhz
2 x wd400 HDD in raid O
1 x maxtor HDD
