Post your Ideal Spy who you would like to see as the protagonist in Splinter Cell 6. Please be creative and don't say "Sam Fisher" or "Kestrel" create your own character...you decide his/her ethnicity, background, character traits, physical attributes..the whole nine yards, go as much into detail as you'd like to
MY IDEAL SPY:
Gurung Rai Thapa
Callsign: 'Khukri'
Ex- Gorkha Sergeant in the British army.
Ex- SAS
served in Malaya, Falklands, 3 tours of duty in Afghanistan. Highly decorated and participant of ultra secret clandestine operations.
Part of a 3 man, highly mobile, British recce unit in Afghanistan.
46 Confirmed enemy kills, 147 unconfirmed
Awarded MM for conducting a daring one man recon of a taliban position where in he infiltrated 8 Km behind Taliban lines on a mission to scout a suspected enemy position. It was believed that a 2 area commanders of the insurgents were in that encampment.
Instead of scouting, Thapa did one better.
He snuck into the encampment, armed with only a khukri and a suppressed pistol. He bypassed the sentries. entered the camp and found the two commanders deep in sleep.
He returned to base, reported to his commander "save the gunships, Sir, the job's done" and placed 2 severed thumbs on the desk. ID purposes you see.
Thapa is curt, soft spoken and Ruthlessly efficient. Unlike Sam He prefers a dead sentry than an unconscious one. He NEVER questions orders. He does not like to chat much during operations but is always cheery and never complains. On first glance he does not appear much, a joyful, always-smiling middle aged man. But during operations, there is a noticeable change in his demeanour. He displays High levels of aggression but is adept at channeling it. He is extremely friendly and gels well with his coworkers and peers but once on the field he leaves his usually cheery and friendly self back at base. In the Field he becomes 'Khukri'
On one occasion he once asked a particularly verbose handler to "Shut up!" but not so politely. He absolutely detests non-mission specific banter and can be quite cold during an operation. 3E Shrinks term it as a Split Personality disorder but at the lowest and mildest level. Nevertheless, most people have a hard time believing that 'Khukri' is the same dimunitive Gorkha they had a Pint with during a Christmas party.
I was reading about the Gurkhas and was impressed with their aptitude for stealth. It is reported that during the 2nd WW they fought a highly successful guerilla campaign against the Japanese forces in Malaya. They used to sneak in behind Jap lines, and return with severed ears of Japanese sentries!! Also as a sport they used to go behind enemy lines and return with SEVERED SHOELACES...cut from sleeping Japanese soldiers!!
Needless to say they have a tremendous Psychological impact on enemies

For the heck of this topic, I will just answer it.
I would love to put me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif in the story but nah, I will use the next available character, which is in my novel, which takes place in 2099-2013.
He shares the same name though. lol http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Sam Fist
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Nationality: American and Japanese (2 passports)
Age: 29
Height: 185 cm
Weight: 250 lb
Background: Ex-CIA, currently works for SET (Special Elite Task), a private intelligence agency. Worked for CIA for 5 years and then hired by SET and worked for 3 years so far. CIA was thinking of privatizing spies to allow other nations to know that the US government is not involved in spying in their countries and so the PIA takes all the heat. Served in the US Army for 2 years. Studied political science and graduated with a Masters degree in 5 years, starting at age 16. Worked for the government right after finishing school. During working for the government, he was in the army and with the CIA around the same time, then transferred to SET.
Character trait: Very smart with IQ of 136, funny, can be really unpredictable sometimes, can be stupid at times, like awkward situations lol. Worse characteristic of all, he is a traitor. I won't reveal anymore. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
He can be very serious at times. Very into his job. Can be brutally mean when he is interrogating. Loves to swear when something isn't right. Able to speak English, French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arab, Hindu, and Russian fluently.
Religion and Ideology: Classified.
Fun stuff?: Football, sprinting, cross-country, soccer, training, swimming, skydiving/airborne, lacrosse, laser tag and paintball!
(yeh, Sam Fist spends lots of time learning and improving himself, which not many people do)
Physical attributes: Excellent marksman, 40 bull-sights in a minute. Able to sprint for at least 3 minutes. Exceptional physical attributes. SET demands tough physical training, which helps spies get into really unreachable places. (I believe in the SC games, it is too easy to get into places.) Sam Fist is expert at all training exercises. Able to wall jump really fast. That's a given right?
Stealth skills: Extremely silent. You barely hear a squeak from him. Extremely deadly. Able to slid your throat in half a second, without the guard making a single noise. Excellent with assault rifles, pistols, grenades, any weapons, you name it. He can hold his breath for 15 minutes underwater. Can swim really fast. Loves to airborne. Master at karate, judo and wrestling.
Experiences (fictional, duh):
During the service in the army, fought in the conflict of Japanese rebels and Japanese army. (Forgot the operation name) Japan is actually now combined with Asia countries to form The Eastern Sun coalition. Fought in Iraq in Operation Kuwul. When working with the CIA, he infiltrated the Japanese embassy during the conflict of Japanese rebels with the Japanese Army. (After the service in the army, he continued to work with the CIA and continued to fight this conflict.) Then transferred to SET.
SET missions: Infiltrated Germany Presidential Palace, visited Indonesia, pretended to be an Indonesia officer, infiltrated Japanese HQ, infiltrated the White House. <- Serious stuff. When Sam infiltrated the Japanese HQ, it was during another Japanese conflict after the rebels vs. the army. Forgot the operation name, but it is in my novel. Fought on Panama Rebel island. Forgot all operation names, but they are in my novel.
Yeh, my novel is pretty serious, exciting, about long conflicts that change into another conflict b/c of leaders changes. Hope you know what I mean.
That's it for now. More will come soon if I can remember more about him.

Eh, what the hell, I'll try it.
Full Name: Jonathan(Jack) Myers
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Nationality: American, European.
Age: 24
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 180 lb
Callsign: Boxer
Background Info: Ex-Marine, currently works at the Global Intelligence Agency(GIA). Jack grew up in the United States in Louisiana and Texas. Jack was the son of a Nurse, and an Army Man. Jack was the youngest in group of four boys. He spent most of his time studying well in school. His brothers taught him how to fight, or at least like a street brawler, and his father taught him how to shoot a gun. One day, while going places with his dad, his dad was assaulted by a man with a knife. Jack watched his father die before his own eyes. At that time, the 15 year old boy had never felt fear this great. Jack's father always carried a pistol with him, so Jack got that out, and managed to kill the man. Jack's mother was unable to care for the family without her husband, she was forced to send the family out to different relatives, with Jack's grandfather sending him to military school. That was where Jack started his military career, he improved his H2H fighting, and overall improved himself.
(I probably needed to separate that into paragraphs)
Misc. Info:
Preferred Hand to Hand Style: Kali
Likes to excercise on his time off, also goes to bars with friends, but always refrains from getting drunk. Is double jointed, which gives him somewhat of an advantage.
Known Languages: English, Spanish, French, Tibetan, and Chinese.
Favorite Sports/Activities: Football, Boxing, and Paintball.
Stealth Tactics: Can adapt to situations. Trys to not kill unless it is necessary. Can also uses forms of social stealth and blending in.
Took part in "Operation Iraqi Freedom", manged to replace Saddam with a double, and take in the real one. The real Saddam was taken in for questioning and eventually executed. Jack is fairly young, and hasn't taken part in many operations.
(Sorry if anyone took the Iraq story offensively, remember, the thing I described is pure fiction and not really what happened.)
Current Location: On a social stealth mission in North Korea, investigating the uprise in conflicts between the two Koreas.
This was a really good idea for a thread.

Name: Marc Spencer
Age: 32
Height: 5'10
Weight: 180
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Black/African American
Callsign: Fortune
Education: Duke University, BA UC Berkeley, MBA
Affiliation: EX-U.S. Army Special Forces/Delta Operator (E-7 Sergeant First Class). Current Splinter Cell
Current Status: Active. Recruited directly into NSA after Commanding Officer Colonel William Lewis (now General) left unit to lead the rebuilding of Third Echelon after the Tom Reed Presidential Assassination attempt. 3E had been shut down and all NSA paramilitary and black ops now being run off book by the Pentagon-with NSA focusing on SIGINT and training handlers for Splinter Cells. Hated Military bureaucracy and was given full operational authority at the discretion of General Lewis. Able to act independently and outside the chain of command to execute missions.
Languages: French, Spanish, Russian, Farsi (Conversational), Arabic
Skills: Army Ranger (Airborne), Marksman, Infiltration, Hostage rescue, weapons expert, Intelligence gathering, anti-terrorism, assassination.
Fighting Style: Krav Maga, Kali, Aikido
Known missions: Spent the early part of the decade hunting High Value Targets (Both Taliban and AQ) in Afghanistan. Led the team which extracted President of Honduras during military coup. Successfully infiltrated the operations of the world's largest cabal of arms dealers and stopped the sale of stolen soviet nuclear materials to radical elements. Currently working on classified mission involving the takedown of a known world terror network.
Personal: Assigned the callsign "Fortune" because of MBA degree and personal interest in world equity markets, as well as a history of consistently escaping the most dangerous situations. Used forensic accounting techniques to trace money laundering scheme from Ex-KGB operating on U.S. Soil. Possesses a very sardonic sense of humor as a defense mechanism and stress reliever. Currently single, no children or known relatives. Very hotheaded, and has gone rogue on several occasions when inhibited by bureaucratic measures; as a result the military forced him out. Possesses a highly developed sense of duty, which often makes him personalize missions, and will act outside of mission parameters to his own personal satisfaction. A known example was his execution of Major Dmitry Argoyev-when the mission only called for his apprehension and interrogation.
Fortune discovered that the major was running a child smuggling ring and went off grid to disrupt the operation, nearly causing an international incident due to the number of ex and current KGB directly and indirectly involved. Ultimately held off an entire Russian Spetsnaz unit in the mountains and somehow managed to elude capture, despite suffering numerous injuries. He was recruited into 3E shortly thereafter for his ability to think outside the box and perform solo missions against heavy odds.

I liked your format so I copied it.
Name: Matthias Farrow
Age: 38
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 180lbs
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Anglo American
Callsign: Mads
Affiliation: EX U.S Navy EOD and SEAL (E-7 Chief Petty Officer). Independent Government Contractor. Current Splinter Cell.
Current Status: Active. Recruited into NSA after 3 years of Contracting Operations during Iraqi Freedom. Primary actions involved infiltrating hostile controlled military installments and disabling ordnance and counter measures, prior to friendly assault. And, on site ordinance disposal in 'hot' areas.
Highest rates of success resulted in NSA head hunting Mads for permanent assignment.
Languages: some French, minor Spanish.
Skills: Marksman, Infiltration, Anti-terrorism, Explosive Handling/Disarmament/Disposal, Electronic Surveillance/Communication/Security manipulation, Electronic/Electrical utility configuration and control.
Fighting Style: MMA.
Known Missions: During Desert Storm Mads served as the explosive handler of his SEAL team. A chain of operations were conducted behind enemy lines where the primary objective was the destabilization of counter warfare installations. As a mission essential package on his team, Mads often was relegated to the tail end of the operation while the assault formation cleared the path as necessary. In one particular event, incognito was blown and the team found themselves on their heels against an Iraqi Hard battalion.
SOP was to abandon the objective and RTB. Mads along with his team mates didn't like an 'L' on their score card and pressed the objective. Zero SEAL casualties and Mission completion was the tale of the tape. A large contributing factor to this outcome was Mads effective use of SEAL imported Explosives and assault expertise. Having used the objective explosives against the Hard battalion, disabling the countermeasures required a creative solution. Using the counter measures themselves as the destabilizing agent this particular Mission resulted in destruction of the entire Enemy Military asset in the immediate area rather than just the objective element. Mads quoted "that one's popping ear drums back on the carrier".
Personal: Positive personality traits, generally considered happier, by his associates "than anyone has the right to be".
Avoids taking life un-necessarily.
Foul mouthed, humorous and a significant contributing factor to team stability when working in one.
On rare occasion has been observed abandoning rational operating procedures and resorting to extreme prejudice violence. Upon review, situation specific conditions deemed such actions justifiable, and off the record, "filth like that deserved worse" (3E Director of Op's S.F.).
Mads struggles internally (after the fact) with the decisions that he is often required to make in the moment. He re-assesses missions during review to ensure there wasn't a "better way". This analytical sense of "right" has led to repeatedly being enlisted for strategic insertion planning on his own, and other operator missions.
The large overview of operations has given Mads a clear view of the Agency's new direction and motive, which at this time, under the new leadership, he is happy to be a part of.

Mads sounds like an awesome spy. I also like how you've mentioned specific incidents and missions really adds to the agent's 'badass cred'
Anyway heres another one of mine

#CLASSIFIED 3A#
NAME:********
DOB:*******
CALLSIGN: HERON 6
HT: 5'10"
WT: 195 Lbs
ETHNICITY: CAUCASIAN
AFFILIATION: 3 ECHELON[SUB.DIV#SC]
STATUS: ACTIVE
FIELD EX:
-US Army Special Forces (19**-19**)
-US SFOD-D (19**-19**)
-OVERWATCH (19**-19**)
-SAD(CIA) (19**-20**)
-3E (20**-Present)
Speaks: Bosnian (both dialects), Urdu,Pashtu,Farsi,Russian, Fluent in French, Spanish and German.
OPERATIONAL EVALUATION:
6 was part of the highly covert and experimental 'OVERWATCH' unit, which was tasked with long term infiltration of enemy infrastructure and high risk sabotage operations. The same unit comprised of *** operatives was responsible for OP ***** and succesfully destablised North *****. The very fact they were able to completely dismantle a government and establish a 'friendlier' govt. within 2 months is testament to their effectiveness. Heron 6 was Team Leader for Blue Cell (See File ###78 for Blue Cell Ops.) during the operation and was responsible for a Nation wide communications and power blackout (OP MUFFLER). During 19** they were disbanded after rumors surfaced of a highly controversial training program (See File ###657). Involving desensitization routines and techniques like 'Waterboarding' to increase mental resilience. HERON 6 was then transferred to CIA in 19** as a Field operative. He worked with the SAS (UK) in Afghanistan and conducted cross border raids into USSR territory with Northern Alliance soldiers. He was constantly deployed as a Scout and would conduct high risk recce operations on Soviet bases and airfields. On one mission he is known to have disabled a squadron of Mi-24 Hinds (which was guarded by a re-enforced company of VDV troops) with nothing but a Ka-Bar knife (read OP DETAILS). He is highly reliable and can manage ANY task given to him. He has acquired a HUGE variety of skills from dismantling entire power grids to toppling governments. The Commander of 'OVERWATCH' said "[Heron 6] is absolutely invaluable...the guy does more damage with a screwdriver and 2 pounds of C4 than an entire Tank battalion backed by B-52s". His operational effectiveness has been determined to be 100%.
After the fall of the USSR (I'm sure that 6 had a major hand in that as well). 3E immediately poached him from SAD (Not to their liking at all)and he was the field element of the SC Unit *****. It oversaw operations in the Mid-East and was instrumental in deflating the extremist network there. 6 personally ID'd and neutralized 4 extremist cell leaders and was behind the massive success of OP LAMBDA, where in He infiltrated the regional **** Service HQ and hacked into their Mainframes to monitor Cell Phone networks in the region. The combined efforts of 6 and 17th Squadron (See File AF###447) have decapitated the hostile networks in the Mid-East.
OP DETAILS:
19**-[OP MUFFLER]
Led a team of 2 operatives and infiltrated 9 highly secured Military Communications and Power hubs in North ***** to successfuly cause a Nationwide blackout for 3 days.
Operative notes: HERON 6 thought it a good idea to broadcast the Chinese national anthem on ALL Military channels. Since then the blackout has been attributed to a Chinese hacking group. Relations with China have been cold at best
19**-[OP BEAR-TRAP]
Conducted a lone recon mission of a heavily defended Soviet Airfield which was preparing a massive Heli-Drop the next morning on the Panjshir valley. He avoided several VDV (Soviet Airborne forces) patrols and sniffer dogs, infiltrated the compound and disabled a squadron of Mi-24 gunships with a knife. The Helicopter assault was scrapped in the morning.
Operative notes: 6 ID'd the command vehicle (a GAZ) and booby trapped it. It is believed that the loss of the Commanding officer also played a huge role in the scrapping of the operation.
20**-[OP TROJAN]
Went Undercover as a Chechnyan arms smuggler in the mid-East. Here he slowly built up a network of informants and allies with extremist ties, after 8 months of undercover work he Identified 4 major terror cells and their leaders. He became a trusted ally and was successful in monitoring the weapons distribution using RFID tags on the weapons. He also undertook their opium smuggling operations and intelligence provided by him reduced drug flow in Europe by 37%. On ****** 5th 20** he planned and synchronised simultaneous raid on ALL terror cells. Backed by elements of SFOD-D He neutralized all the cells and their leaders. Within 4 hours all traces of their existence had been cleared. Intelligence gleaned from this operation shutdown 7 other networks in Europe.
Operative notes: During his last deal (D-8 hours) he rigged the ammunition with C-4 instead of gunpowder. There were several incidents around the world where people firing their guns just blew up.
20**-[OP LAMBDA]
After wrapping up OP TROJAN, HERON 6 identified the ISP and Service providers which provided clandestine remote servers for communication to extremist groups. These were based throughout central Asia and Eastern Europe. Using 3E resources he Identified the Communications Hub and infiltrated the heavily guarded building. He avoided a company's worth of Ex-Spetsnaz guards and PMCs, Cameras, thermal imagers and lasers to hack into the mainframe and plant tracers and trojans. 6 Gave access to the terror cell communication networks and this was a major coup for 3E. Since then almost ALL extremist activity has been neutralised and every communique is monitored.
Operative note: N/A
PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION:
6 displays surprisingly effective stress coping mechanisms. If this is due to OVERWATCH training or self imposed behaviour is debatable, but 6 has an extremely high stress handling threshold. This guy could play Russian rouellette all day and then go back home for a game of golf and tea. It is noticed that he has a calming effect on his peers and is a born leader. His presence instills confidence in his subordinates. He is often quite and reserved with first impressions of him as a Librarian, but shows his sense of humor in more direct ways. He is notorious for pranks...both ON and OFF the field. This type of behaviour would be discouraged were it not for his perfect track record. Refer OP MUFFLER & TROJAN. The Heads at Langley had a fit when they heard about the Chinese Anthem.
Another distinct personality trait observed is 6's abhorrence of oversight and his strong sense of Independence. He ALWAYS plans and conducts missions on his own. He selects his own team and then goes off the reservation to conduct the operation. Often this has led to clashes but HERON 6 always gets his way due to his proven track record. Unlike most SC teams He does not use remote homeland support but prefers to select his own team and work from the country where the operation is taking place. He often selects local contacts and has established several assets and networks all over the world. He plans every detail of the operation and then executes it. It was 6's idea to block all communication and power grids in MUFFLER, He planned and executed TROJAN and it was his brainchild to infiltrate the Comm Hub and hack into the main servers. He is best left alone and should simply be given an objective and then left to his own devices. This type of Modus Operandi has earned him the nickname of 'HERETIC 6' and he has gained a legendary status in the black ops world.
He is highly intelligent (IQ 160+) and extremely lethal. He prefers simple, precise strikes in favor of massive brute force. This is evident in his MO. He is extremely adept at thinking out of the box and lateral problem solving, often coming up with creative and unconventional solutions to complex problems. He is highly imaginative.
HERON 6 is averse to direct contact he prefers staying absolutely invisible.
Another interesting trait in his psyche is his Machiavellian attitude towards the mission. he has displayed ruthlessness when achieving his objective and is not above using terror tactics himself. HERON 6 once executed Swedish doctor abducted from a local village while undercover, to gain the trust of a local Cell leader. in the AAR he states (quoted) "The Doctor's death was necessary for me to maintain my cover and gain access to ******* inner circle. That incident helped me save a thousand more lives and I'd do it again". HERON 6 is currently being monitored for sign of psychological scarring and PTSD but so far he appears mentally and physically healthy.

Name is classified?!
http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif lol How do we identify him or her... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Am I the only one that has a story that takes place in the future? Not that modern times are not good but I want to go for a little later in time so I can use real events that have already happened as a complement to the story. It's a little harder to write b/c the characters are not involved in real events and I have to make stuff up for them. Yeh...anyways.

@sam2000
LOL
Yeah though it would be a good idea to present the next spy as a classified dossier with references to other secret docs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif makes it seem more believable.
as for Identifying HERON...that good sir is an impossibility. It's like trying put out the sun with a glass of water. HE is UBER-STEALTH!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
Actually I think writing stories in the future is easier as you have much more fun and greater creative independence. I guess, we are thinking of spies in the SC universe and hence we consider the current timeline. But do continue writing stories set in the 'near future' as well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, as the SC story progress, it is getting into the future. And I do take real events and change them a bit to suit a future event. I have Japanese conflict, which is similar to WW2.
Although, I write about the future, I do like to keep it real and realistic. No sci-fi stuff, hate sci-fi. Even though writing futuristic stuff is sci-fi but I don't see it that way. To me, writing about the future is NOT sci-fi no matter how many writers or anybody says it is.
Okay, classified it is.

Hi guys. Just want to let you know that you all are putting forward very interesting reads! (And one very nice poster).
Instead of dreaming up my own SC (Marius Moe, Callsign: Troll. -EX-Norwegian Special Forces- Guerilla Tactics, Small arms specialist, Norwegian nationals mountain climber silver medalist, Norwegian & English & Russian-fluent speaking... damnit too late ) I'm rather gonna jump for joy about the thought of MAYBE getting the option in the next splinter cell game to design my own SC for multiplayer, and looking forward to seeing yours! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, classified it is. Eh, unless you wish to rewrite the dictionary definition of Sci-Fi I suggest you accept it for what it is.
It can only be Science Fiction or Science Fact, even Fantasy stories are technically Science Fiction if their content directly conflicts with Science Fact.
However, even though your stories are based in the future it doesn't mean they have to be Sci-Fi. The future will happen, and as long as you don't deliberately go outside the box of what's been scientifically proven to be possible, then it remains Science Fact. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@Jazz_117
I know the definition. However, many people tell me or writers tell me what I am doing is sci-fi. I don't believe it is and I am following the dictionary term, but it's how they see it. I dont usually contain science stuff. Just realism stuff.
So we're both on the same page.

<span class="ev_code_GREY">Name:</span> Joseph Miller
<span class="ev_code_GREY">1977</span> - Joseph grew up in a rough neighborhood in central Los Angeles. His father left him and his mother when he was only seven. After that he didn’t stay around home much. In his mid teen years he took some shady jobs to try and support his mother because she was getting to old to work the required hours to keep them off the street. His rough childhood made him an accomplished brawler and without his mothers consent or knowledge he joined a gang of streetfighters. This earned him money and respect, but he eventually ran out of excused for all the cuts and bruises and so he got a part time job at a gunsmith and became somewhat of an enthusiast.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">1995</span> - After graduation he took a few odd jobs but nothing really suited him and before too long he joined the USMC.
Life as a marine fitted him like a glove. And his passion for firearms didn’t go to waist either. His exceptional performance quickly got him promoted to Special Forces.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">2003</span> - He served in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He and his team completed several important black ops in the few years they were there and through a series of undisclosable events Joseph earned the nickname Wolfman.
One mission his team became compromised and the operation was aborted. However Joseph and three others never made it to the extraction point. He was missing for six days before he was found. He was injured and neither of his teammates was heard of again.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">2006</span> - Joseph was shipped home.
On returning home he found out that his mother had remarried. Her new husband was a member of the LAPD. He and Joseph quickly became friends and after his injuries had fully healed his stepfather got him a security guard position at a bank. He also employed him as some muscle when doing off-the-books type jobs.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">2007</span> - Joseph got a taste for law enforcement and soon he officially joined the LAPD, and shortly after he was promoted to S.W.A.T. Joseph excelled in his unit; he was the best shot and had the 2nd fastest draw speed in the entire LAPD. However his knack for disobeying orders to solve situation got him labeled as a hothead, but this wasn’t all bad, for he spent a lot of time in the office, and that’s were he met Katie, his soon to be girlfriend.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">2009</span> – Joseph stepped on the department’s toes for the last time, but he was too valuable to throw away. The chief had a friend in the FBI that knew some people who were looking for Joseph’s kind of talents. When introduced they knew he was what they were looking for and immediately put him in their advanced training program.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">2010</span> – Joseph graduated with flying colors and was officially recognized as a field agent of Third Echelon. He only had one request, his codename be Wolfman.
<span class="ev_code_GREY">Additional information:</span>
Joseph was without a father and/or mentor for most of his life. All he knows he learnt from the street. He’s broken the law a lot, but only to try and support his struggling mother, and he never got caught.
After his streetfighting years he was still passionate about fighting, but wanted a more refined art, so he looked towards eastern martial arts and of course life in the USMC and Special Forces taught him a lot about hand2hand combat. If one were to fight him, they may not recognize a distinct fighting style; his years of experience and practice have melded his knowledge and theory into a unique and absolutely formidable arsenal of techniques. Life in the marines taught him a lot about foreign culture and different languages. This knowledge was more valuable then he gave it credit for.
The LAPD S.W.A.T. team encouraged him to push himself even harder then the military and so he became a flawless marksman and improved his already excellent CQB capabilities.
Now an agent of 3rd Echelon, Joseph (aka Wolfman) is undoubtedly one of the most formidable solo operatives. But he is still relatively young for the line of work and remains a bit of a hot head but he’s a fast learner and dealing with the present global threats is giving him the experience and skill to stand with the best that 3rd echelon has to offer.

I am extremely glad SOMEONE came up with a Law enforcement background as a Person with extensive Police work and SWAT experience would actually make an excellent 3E candidate. Plus really like the timeline format.

DIR OPS[3E]
DIR TR[3E]
BEGIN
DIR OPS: Mornin' [DIR TR] how's the family? Heard about[NON TASK RELATED-DELETED]
DIR TR: Hey [DIR OPS]..the family's fine, we [DELETED]
DIR OPS: So got fresh meat for us have you, [ADIR TR] says this ones different.
DIR TR: Very different.
DIR OPS: So, what are we looking at?
DIR TR: Meet [CALLSIGN: SIERRA 7][HANDS FILE TO DIR OPS]. This is the type of new blood I was talking about, smart, lethal and quite...with emphasis on the quite part.
DIR OPS: Hmmm. Joined in 19XX..straight outta MIT [SURPRISE] with an MSc. in Ethical Hacking[WHISTLES]....joins the USMC. Selected for and passes FORCE RECON..joins in 19XX....Takes a study leave and completes a Masters in Political Science....Jeez [DIR TR] this guy's a scholar not a soldier, the Force Recon stint is pretty impressive but I don't know if the Kid is ready for Black Ops.
DIR TR: That's what I meant by smarts [DIR OPS]...we need thinker/analysts type on the field now, people who can make rapid decisions on site and carry out independant actions. We've been gearing towards that doctrine for years now haven't we? It cuts down logistics and action/decision time. We need self sustaining operatives, deniability in the truest sense of the word,[DIR OPS]. You and I both know that with the Chinese and the Russians exporting SIGINT tech to every nation within a 100 miles that our COMM tech is under threat of a breach. The new SNIFFER tech that we have been hearing about is bad news for SATCOM and Cochlear implants. We need more OPSEC and one way is to reduce the size of the Operating Cell.
DIR OPS: Yeah the Guys is smart..book smart [DIR TR] don't know about his on site decision making credentials, can he...[INTERJECTED]
DIR TR: [DIR OPS] The guy hacked into the local Army Intranet when he was stationed with the 1st RECON in ********!![EXCITED]. This network was supposedly 128 Bit encrypted and this guy went through it like [EXPLETIVE] through a Goose! [EXCITED]. They had NSA Analysts looking for a loophole for 2 weeks and when they found one it was booby trapped with trojans and tracers. The guy hacked into the Net and then casually reported it to his commander that we have 'Some security issues'. He's smart and the dangerous kind of smart..the best part is, he knows it.
DIR OPS: All right I get the point, what about field operations...actual boots-on-ground experience...combat performance??[INTERROGATIVE]
DIR TR: Thats why you need to read the complete file
DIR OPS: Well, it says nothing here about ANY operations except a miscrepancy in the dates...Theres no mention of his postings/assignments from 19XX-20XX...that's 7 years of missing time. I see you're grinning now...care to explain?[INTERROGATIVE]
DIR TR: There's your Black Ops experience right there.
Remember OPERATION SNAKE-CHARMER?[INTERROGATIVE]
DIR OPS: I see, Very impressive. Was he the lead on that?
DIR TR: We sent him (actually he volunteered)as part of a 12 man team into Northern Afghanistan way back in 19XX to carry out SNAKE-CHARMER. He was the Team Comms specialist.
DIR OPS: Hmmmm...So he was responsible for all those disappearing Soviet commanders was he...
DIR TR: Partly. The real objective of SNAKE CHARMER was actually a remote Soviet Listening post on the Uzbek-Afghan border to the west.....in the Badkyz nature reserve. They were sniffing the air for NATO spy planes or Comm signals. It also maintained encrypted COMM routes with the regional KGB offices and was a Signals HUB. It was maintained by a skeletal crew of 7-10 personnel and most of the work was automated through Mainframes controlling land laid Fibre optic lines. It was Extremely heavily guarded...there was a Company of Spetsnaz on site 24/7 with a two re-enforced platoons of Airborne troops as reserves....it had mines, dogs the works. And quite expected because this little hub in the middle controlled Signals Security and encryption for the entire KGB in the middle east. So destroying it would have effectively shut down the intelligence network in the east for at least 3 months.
DIR OPS: Are you telling me 12 guys assaulted an entire base full of 120 Spetsnaz troops??[INTERROGATIVE]
DIR TR: Don't forget the dogs. Actually, they did one better. These guys hiked over the border and camped in the woods for a week before launching their attack. Their AAR is the stuff from Alistair Maclean novels. Anyway, Mr.[SIERRA 7] here was actually attached as the Electronic Warfare officer. Disguised as Spetsnaz officers these guys made it past the patrols and then systematically eliminated anyone in their way. The made it inside the compound raising ANY alarms. Now this is where the whole 'Independent thinking' factor comes to play. After tampering with their systems for a while, SIERRA 7 decided that instead of simply disabling it He would piggyback the system.
DIR OPS: [EXPLETIVE] Me! He's the reason why we could read their military COMMS like an open book! But how did the Soviets NOT suspect that this was an American attack..and change their codes?
DIR TR:[LAUGHS] Well, SIERRA 7 had that covered as well. After Piggybacking the system with a trojan and a couple of tracers for insurance. He proposed that they make it look like a Mujahideen attack. They hailed a 15 man Mujahideen unit waiting just across the Border (a 2 hour hike)which was waiting to exfiltrate the team on a secure encrypted channel and gave them the sites coordinates. In these two hours the 12 man team SILENCED an entire COMPANY of SPETSNAZ troopers without raising an alarm. They were operating Suppressed AK-74Us and Silenced Makarovs to maintain the illusion of an Afghan attack. When the Mujahideen unit arrived they found an empty base with 130 dead Russians and 6 dead German Shephards. SIERRA 7 assumed operational command and told the Mujahideen that there was a change of plan. He lied to them. He asked 10 of them to set up a road block on the route which connected the compound and the Airborne troppers encampment...a mere 10 minute drive away.
DIR OPS: Son of a....![SHOCK] This guy is cold. [EXPLETIVE] even killed the dogs...special kinda 'cold' needed for that
DIR TR: That's not the end of it. He made a really shoddy attempt to destroy the systems in the compound with automatic fire and grenades...make it seem like an amateurish attack. They set up a couple of dead Russkies, took their weapons....shot the remaining Mujahideen with them and set it up like a genuine firefight...all this commotion had attracted the attention of the Reserves and they came rolling down in their BMPs only to run into the Afghan ambush on the road. The 12 man team made it out. The Russians found a half destroyed base...130 dead soldiers and 15 dead Afghans with signs of more that had escaped.
DIR OPS: Jesus. Psych profile??[INTERROGATIVE]
DIR TR: I quote-
"Case of severe clinical detachment when on operations, 7 is extremely task oriented and feels that standard concepts of right and wrong do not apply in the real world. Displays cynicism which probably belies a sense of patriotic sense of justice. Normal social background and a pretty normal childhood. Hard to tell if cynicism acquired or inbuilt. Although in most cases he is a realist rather than a cynic. Knows his boundaries very well and tries to overcome them with a veneer of sarcasm and a sense of superiority. WARNING: Subject is highly intelligent and will use casual discourse to disarm the analyst. He is extremely shrewd and considers himself superior to almost everyone else...and in most cases it is fact rather than arrogance or haughtiness. Is anti-social and prefers to be left alone. Perhaps his nature is not conducive to normal social interaction. Highly secretive, intoverted. Highly lethal as well. He is constantly on guard and can hamper a psycho-analysis session by turning the tables on the therapist
His primary motivation for such dangerous operations is partly a deep rooted sense of patriotism but more so his thrill seeking streak. I believe that due to his intelligence he is unable to connect well with peers and thus seeks dangerous activities to feed his hunger for mental and physical challenges. Approach with extreme caution..NOTE: Do not attempt to patronize"
DIR OPS: I kinda figured he was a nut....He's in. Send him the 'call'.
DIR TR: Roger.

I was going for a secret discussion feel, like an intercepted conversation. I deliberately made the guy a little stand-offish and bit haughty because I wanted him to have some chinks in the armor, besides it seemed natural that such a guy would maintain his distance and keep to himself.

Hey, I got to ask. Do you trust the CIA, knowing the &*%#$$# that's going on right now? I wonder if the NSA is the same. I always knew something isn't right and in my novels, I have always portrayed CIA in a negative way.

Trust the CIA...yeah I trust it...I trust it to do whatever it takes to preserve and maintain US superiority. I trust it to do it's job. Just like I trust My country's RAW, Israel's Mossad, Pakistan's ISI. It's not a question of trusting any of these organisations. They are government agencies tasked with safeguarding their nations. Simple. There's no right or wrong here. The capers being pulled by the US intelligence community are nothing new and ANY nation IMO in their place would do the same. If Zimbabwe was at the same level US was now, I'm sure you would have Zimbabwean troops marching in Iraq or Afghanistan. Whats negative to the world is positive for the US and vice versa.
But solely from a literary POV Nope I like the CIA as bad guys as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif...given their track record and reputation they are the Dr. Evil of the intelligence community.

Um, okay. That's the problem right now. The US is trying to dominate the whole world. They're not safeguarding the nation. Did you know that al-queda has CIA involvement? Unless all these media are passing false information. It just seems to me that non-government media are passing the right message but I don't know. Who knows, these non-government media may have governments controlling them. I don't trust the CIA or any government agencies. Sigh. We do live in a world of conspiracies. We have to wait till 2012 to see what is going to happen to the world. The world is @$#%&* up.

When Alexander cut a bloody swathe through the mid east and central Asia, building a massive empire, he was given the title of 'Great', he was immortalized and seen as a Hero. The US strategy is a modern day example of expansion and extension of political power. Nothing 'wrong' with it. It's just doing what nation-states have been doing for thousands of years. I assume you're Canadian/North American?
The best thing about the US is that it is constantly kept in check by it's own public and media. I think the US is the only country where the people are unforgiving in their criticisms of Govt/ Foreign policy. Don't worry about it. Chill, lead a healthy and fulfilling life....Earth was here billions of years ago and will remain here 2012 or not.

Two of the largest populations and the fastest growing economies. If China does not get it self blockaded and India is not nuked by Pakistan then you might see a 'New World Order' 100 years down the line. Hence the 'Chinese Indian schools' as in 'They control the world' US style.

Sexy read, man. Very sexy read. I like the character being grounded, and kinda keeping him in the top percentage without making him a superhero. Details like the 2nd fastest draw makes him very good, but no spiderman, if you know what i mean?
Very delicate way of putting in social background and making it an interesting read as well.
I have absolutely no problems seeing this as a possible background for Archer, and will probably have differences separating Archer and The Wolfman in the future. Thank you.
@Shobhit
What can i say, man? I want to thank you as well. The format was very well done. Had no problems seing this as a Michael Biehn/Tommy Lee Jones conversation between high-rankers in a low-lit, smoke filled room in washington, script courtesy of a Tom Clancy book.
I mean that as high praise http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif The operation itself started out too good to be true, but the details of the operation made it plausible and quite awesome. Got more to say, but little time, so again, to both of you, thanks for the read, guys. Please keep it up ^_^
P.S. I will try to come up with something similar for Troll to match you in the coming week ^_^

Wow! Thanks man! I'm glad you liked the format. I thought I'd do something different..instead of the usual file format. A conversation seemed like an interesting idea. Especially the Tom Clancy/Hollywood part http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif..think I should send jerry Bruckheimer a script?? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
I agree that the operation seemed a bit too much but I like my heroes to do the near impossible...guys with badass reps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Also thanks for noticing the details of the operation http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I had been thinking of doing something like this for a long time.
My main inspiration of the idea came from Indian Naval Commandos. These guys operate in Kashmir in North India and they disguise themselves in local garb and maintain full beards, they then operate undercover in the mountains to prevent Mujahideen infiltration and use their disguises to sow confusion among terrorist groups (as they are mistaken for civillians or terrorists themselves http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif)
besides...truth is stranger than fiction http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
maybe someone has done something even more over the top dangerous than the mission I mentioned http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY
Threat Advisory Assessment
Subject: Anderson and Ramirez Private Security Consultants; Daniel Anderson; John Ramirez
Author: Lieutenant Commander Richard Halsey
Commissioned: August, 2014
Daniel Anderson
DOB: 16 January, 1984
POB: San Francisco, California
Ethnicity: Anglo-Saxon
Eye Color: grey
Hair Color: blonde
Height: 1.75m (5’ 9”)
Weight: 75.75kg (167lbs)
Service Record: Genius-level intelligence with an incredibly rebellious streak. Excelled in school and graduated from high school at age twelve, enrolled in Harvard University with four majors (Political Science, Bioengineering, American History, and Business Administration) and several minors. Unofficially recruited by the CIA's Special Activities Division (SAD) at age 16; officially under the Agency's employ at age 18 with a recruitment bonus equivalent to a two-year salary of a CIA operative. Parents killed in car crash a month after his 18th birthday in part of [ERROR: SECURITY CLEARANCE DENIED].
Worked for CIA SAD for several years in Asia/the Pacific, notably in China and North Korea. First met John Ramirez during an operation to eliminate an arms dealer involved with Al Qaeda. SOCOM and SAD noted their excellent teamwork and frequently partnered them together afterwards.
In early 2009, Anderson was involved in a romantic relationship with the daughter of a Vietnamese scientist turning to the US to safekeep his research (see file [ERROR: SECURITY CLEARANCE DENIED]). Retired from the agency shortly afterwards. Started Anderson and Ramirez Private Security Consultants with John Ramirez in late 2009/early 2010. Has since participated in numerous peacekeeping missions by supplementing bodyguards of various government officials. Hired on deniable black ops by the CIA, FBI, and NSA. Current value is estimated at 4.5 million USD.
Skills: Trained in Krav Maga and proficient in combat shooting. Speaks English, French, German, Mandarin and Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, and Russian. Could hypothetically kill five men in three seconds while solving a calculus problem. The brains of the operation, so to speak.
Threat Assessment: HIGH
Notes: Anderson's psychological profiling suggests that he is not altogether stable. He regularly smokes and drinks in order to calm nerves and memories of past operations. If the money is there, Anderson will undoubtedly accept a job. His loyalty is in question. The training, education, and basic intelligence and coldness makes Anderson extremely capable of being a threat to national security, even if operating alone. He has no family or friends beyond John Ramirez, making it difficult to control him.
John Ramirez
DOB: 20 June, 1985
POB: New York City, New York
Ethnicity: Mexican-American
Eye Color: brown
Hair Color: black
Height: 1.75m (5’ 8”)
Weight: 81.65kg (180lbs)
Service Record: Enlisted in the United States Navy straight out of high school. Demonstrated exemplary characteristics and quickly began a Navy SEAL. Saw action in Iraq and Afghanistan, typically serving as a sniper or designated marksman. Promoted to Chief Petty Officer with various distinctions and awards. Following his first mission with Daniel Anderson, Ramirez joined the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU).
Befriended Daniel Anderson during various cooperative missions, and decided to leave the Navy when Anderson left the CIA in order to start their own private security agency in early 2010. Shortly after returning to the States, Ramirez met Eva Rodriguez and has since maintained a steady relationship with her. Has recently stated he is interested in settling down with her and retiring from the business. Currently estimated to be worth 4.0 million USD.
Skills: Extensive combat training and experience. Skilled in Krav Maga and other hand-to-hand combat systems. Extremely capable sniper and Special Forces operator. Can easily work in plainclothes operations and capable of speaking Spanish and English, with limited Arabic. Of note is that he is perhaps the only person to cooperate well with Anderson, both professionally and personally.
Threat Assessment: MEDIUM
Notes: Considering Ramirez's plans to settle down in the next few years with Dr. Rodriguez, it is unlikely that he will pose a threat to national security. Far more emotionally and psychologically stable in comparison to Anderson. However, Anderson's influence on Ramirez is a factor not to be underestimated. With Ramirez's skill set, Anderson would be virtually unstoppable, should he go rogue. Should this happen, enact Protocol 117-2-052.

Excellent work! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif I love the 'Threat Assessment' Format and the slightly unstable nature of the two agents...sort of reminds me of Kane and Lynch. Their loyalties are to themselves..I LIKE!
It doesn't matter anymore if they are SC related. As long we have interesting characters and formats.
I guess I now have a clearer picture of your weapon requirements now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Although they do start out my story working for the CIA. Then, of course, things go bad...

The dark, empty alley looked like the gaping maws of a soulless beast, the wisps of steam rolling out the dark abyss like tendrils of saliva. I can see jack****, all I hear is a voice beckoning me to enter those jaws. It's a woman's voice. A Redhead this one, pretty but...dangerous. I've seen her types in my business. 10 bucks says she's packin a snub nose .38 and another 10 that she knows how to use it...well enough to plug me at this range. Over the wails of the city she hands me my next assignment..no words are exchanged. It's a simple manila folder... another file, another prey for me to track down. She melts back into the black pool of shadows, no doubt another exit right behind her...I chuckle to myself, these special ops types. The drive back to my apartment takes another 15 minutes, I get lucky with the lights. I enter my humble abode, humble in the truest sense of the word...It's a craphole. I can hear the Neighbours TV. The cacophony of simulated gunshots, the exaggerated screams of dying men, a parody of war. I open the file. I find 3 addresses..the first is a two hour drive downtown, the other two are towards the east industrial district. I Need a drink...I go for the downtown one.
I drive through the jungle of Neon signs..gaudy signs catering for the baser pleasures and large billboards promising beauty. It's an orgy of colours, photons bursting on the visual palette. It's the Sistine Chapel for the 21st century. I arrive at my destination. The cold wind feels good...the shots of whiskey only make it better. I go inside and find a couple of cops outside the elevator, I flash my badge and I'm up. It's a two story Penthouse on the 24th floor. Another cop...he lets me in. Nice floors, is the first thing I notice...not a bad place at all. And then the carnage fills in, eating into the borders of my vision. There are bodies everywhere. Each twisted shell bearing evidence of the violence visited on it.
I Begin with the one nearest...a young one, 26-28. Shot. Two in the sternum, center mass and one in the head. His hand still clutches a Beretta...the other holding onto a flashlight...hmmm, interesting the room is lit up like a dutch brothel, why would he bother with the flashlight. I move on. There is a cluster of 3 dead bodies in the center of the room...laid out like a macabre imitation of a flower..each body a petal. All three male, late 20s but the most common characteristic apart from their state of health would have to be the 3 neat holes in their heads....like full-stops declaring the end of the sentence, their lives..I chuckle at the thought. Each guy was packin..none had reached for their weapon...caught with their pants down. From the angle of the shots the shooter would have been to the far left corner of the large room....I walk over, it's a good 25-30 feet from the 3 dead guys...I walk into the large black swathe of shadow where I assume the killer would have been...I'm right and it's not just the 7 ejected casings that confirm my assumption but another body, this one with it's head twisted to an unnatural degree...lying unseen in the pool of shadows. Why are there 7 casings?.....I look over and it becomes clear..the place is lit up by Police floodlights..the central light on the ceiling has been shot out. So our killer operates from the darkness. No wonder the 3 stooges there hadn't see him/her coming. Our Killer conducts spinal surgery on this fellow here, drills the light and then proceeds to inject some lead into the three there...the 5th guy...Mr. 3 Holes near the entrance freaks out..pulls his weapon and flashlight to investigate but instead lights himself up like a target on a range and our killer obliges. The Killer is definitely not messing around...he/she is smart enough to remain undetected...and shoots extremely well. Rapid triple headshots at 30 feet in darkness and then a Mozambique drill on the 4th guy....two extra rounds because the target was aware and had his weapon out....definitely ex-Special ops. Strong too...twisting the neck around like that..also indicative of training and technique. Definitely male. Ex Special Ops and highly cunning....I start to regret taking this case. The left of the room is bathed in darkness. I venture into it. I am not surprised to find another body there....his throat has been crushed. He's holding onto his Mossberg a flashlight lying next to him...the final kill. The killer must have snuck upto him using the darkness. I kill the flood lights in the room to recreate the scenario. The room is covered in a cloak of darkness, the blinds are down. I wait a couple of minutes and let my eyes adjust...old habits. The room is now a jungle gym of geometric shapes in a shade of bluish grey. I move up the stairs which are near the broken neck guy...I call him the Owl. I travel up and enter the balcony more like a Helipad...we now know our insertion point. Mr Killer comes in and in the darkness scopes out the room below. He singles out Mr. Owl, who is standing in a pool of shadows with the only illumination being the center ceiling light. Mr. Owl is then given a neck modification so that he may move his head like his namesake, by our Mr. Killer. Killer then taps out the light...and then taps the lights out for the three stooges. Mr. 3 Holes at the door is alarmed at this disturbance and withdraws his weapon and light and is thanked for his efforts by 3 pieces of lead...the Loner with the crushed throat fumbles in the darkness...obviously the killer used a suppressed weapon...but then promptly rejoins his comrades. I imagine the victims last moments, the harsh whisper of a silenced weapon..each shot a countdown to his own inevitable death. It was like a twisted game of dominoes with him being the last piece to fall. I bag the casings. I arrive at the study on the 2nd level. Nothing personal on the desk, no photos, no certificates on the walls, no bookcases, just a desktop computer. This is interesting. There are no wireless routers here nor an ethernet cable required to connect the PC with the internet...it's a remote PC inaccessible via remote technology....it clicks now. This was an info theft. Mr. Killer was here for the data on the Hard drive. I check the the walls and windows of he place...Class-3 Glass with radiation dispersion properties..designed to defeat laser mics, walls with AR Meshes..keeps the electrons within and prevents any incoming transmissions. This place was a safehouse. I jog back down and sift through the bodies...sure enough Mr. Owl has a USMC tattoo on his left Bicep..and the Loner has a SEAL insignia emblazoned on the back of his neck. Spec ops..I laugh to myself. This was a 3E safehouse...and it was attacked by the grim reaper himself. The guy mowed down 6 ex-Spec ops guys like a harvester through a cornfield...and I had the good fortune of tracking this gentleman down, as I stared at the lifeless eyes of Corporal Broken neck, the pitch black emptiness began to engulf me, I felt like I was in the middle of the ocean with a shark lurking in the murky depths. I now really started to regret taking this assignment.

Birth Year: 1982
Country: Norway
Build: 176 CMs, 75 kg. (Medium/short, slim/wiry)
Eyes: Dark green/brown
Looks: Goatee, Medium/long hair.
But regular information is boring. Inspired by you, i have decided to
adopt it in a style similar to one of yours, but hopefully different
enough that it'll entertain.

Caller ID: Classified Echelon #715-R.

****************************************
S: Yes?
C: Is the line secure?
S: Friend, in this country? Your name probably got dotted
on five screens in interesting offices just because i picked
up the phone. The age of information, friend. I assume this
is Kerac?
*Pause. Aknowledging sound from caller*
C: Haven't we spoken about this issue?
S: Yes. Unfortunately it just so happens i cannot be
surrounded by security measures every second of every day. A
man has to live, friend.
*Long Pause*
C: Irene Merryweather, 300$ an hour, domination for extra 100$
per, two decades your junior, top apartement at The Egmont. Go
to the veranda, the apartement has not yet been secured. Traffic
will..
S: I'm not a child, Kerac! My men HAS in fact done their job
when it comes to her... home. There is no need to prove your
intel on me is up to date. I was there when all of this was
invented, you know. I'm going outside now.
C: I do not take you for a child, IGORIN, and your men may very
well have done their job, but mine have not. And you were there
at the beginning, true... but this is not the cold war. Information
age, yes?
S: Again, FRIEND. No need to try to prove size of ****. Get to the
point. I have fourteen men on this floor alone. Safety is not the
issue. I assume there is something of importance, since you did not
immediately hang up?
*Pause*
C: Bear in autumn.
S: Two days of carnival. Yes, Kerac, i am me. Now tell me what you
need to tell me.
C: Olgarin has ben hit. Someone new.
S: So close to Yastreb, both in time and location. Was it in concert
with that team?
C: As far as we know, there is no connection. [Name Code 3E-23] and
our old friend [Name Code GRUX-54] did Yastreb on the orders of
[Name Code 3E-A3]. None of their data traffic has indicated any
knowledge of Olgarin. I have good news, bad news, worse news and
worst.
S: Give me the good, so i can prepare for this disgrace with
Koskenkorva.
C: Good news. out of our 53 assets at Olgarin, 34 lives.
S: Mother. *Several swallowing sounds*
C: Bad news, the only trace of the hit was 13 shellcasings.
The operative did not destroy any equipment.
S: But *pause* ...19 dead? Worse news?
C: On the stations the operative may have accessed, key programs
of our operations could be identified, and your identity. Measures
are taking place to change all locations and routines to setup B.
You must relocate.
S: My identity? how long ago was this?
c: Approximately eleven hours since the operative got likely access to
the data. chances of the operative being in the United States before the
next two hours are slight.
S: Friend, i am getting uncomfortable about my next question. Answer
it, so i won't have to ask.
C: Worst news. Based on a data tracking worm and the disappearance
of location beacons, we managed to establish an identity match on the
only possible operative, one we cannot account for. We have his identity.
*Long pause*
S: -*not spoken directly into phone*- Olav? I need doubled patrols.
Leaving in two minutes, going out of the city. Yellow.
-*continued, but directly into phone*- You have two minutes.
C: 29 year old Marius Sørum Moe. Small arms specialist. European
taekwondo forms silver champion. National mountain climbing team.
Killed 2 men in self defence, incapacitated 3 during an excursion
to Romania, but lost 2 friends. Innocent verdict 3 months later.
Another month later, the day after his departure from Romania, 6
men in charge of the criminal operation his assailants were part of,
were found killed, all of them in the same building.
S: Friend, your speech of praise has a reassuring effect. This is
not special.
C: He then turned 19.
S: Your point is made.
C: He joined the army, taken out of regular service after 9 months.
Attended special operations programme. Trained by [Name Code GRUX-12]
S: A spetznatz? In the Norwegian army?
C: Special operations programme. Nordic centralized, ties to America.
[Name Code GRUX-12] had defected 3 years earlier. 2 years after he
joined the military, Marius was designated Codename Troll. He used to
have a temper.
S: Used to?
C: He spent six months with a part of the programme run by Simo Häyhä.
[Name Code FINX-03* Unlocked]
S: The white death.
*Pause*
S: Am i correct to assume that small arms isn't the only type of weapon
he is comfortable with?
C: Yes
S: I'm going inside. What about up until today? you have 20 seconds to
give me something i can prepare my men for.
C: Häyhä died a month after Troll was sent into operations. Training
paid off. 130+ operations possibly completed since 2003. Nothing confirmed
other than the lack of traceable data on Troll during the operations. Best
course of action? Stay in the light. Treat all failure of communication
or technology as an attack. Shoot first, then leave quickly. Avoid what
we are doing right now.
S: *several swallowing sounds, breaking of glass* Mother, Friend. You made
it sound like the devil is on our tails. Where are you?
C: Eastern district. No more info on the phone. You know where. I won't
be here in two hours. Nothing will.
S: I'm coming. *away from phone* Olav? I'm coming out now. We need to..
*thump, then sounds of short struggle, 4 seconds*
S: [New Voice -Norwegian -translated] *lowered* Fi fai fo fum, the eastern
district's full of scum.[Shifts to Russian] Kerac. You have something i want.
Igorin didn't.
*thump*
C: *away from phone* [English] **** me! [Shifts to Russian] Code Red!
Lockdown now! Shoot everything that moves, including rats! We have a
visitor coming!
------Connection Ended.
********************************
Here, I blatantly stole your referance to the eastern district, -not to
claim co-ownership of your setting, but to attempt to add an interesting
"what if?"-idea of co-op between your operative and mine. I'm not suggesting
that either of us should write them together in any way, but since i more
or less live for co-op, i thought it was a funny idea to inject into the
story/presentation to have some form of foundation.
Fun fact, Troll is 10% me, 30% references to other cool real people, and about 60%
capabilities way beyond my own XD
BTW, constructive criticism: Your noir take was cool. Very cool way of using an investigator approach to see how an event could have unfolded in gameplay. Infiltration, melee, mark & excecute, and then manual aim on the last man standing, right? But! It became hard for me to read as a single wall of text. Maybe the formatting is screwed on my browser, but on my screen there wasn't any spacing, which was straining. Other than that, great job ^_^
P.S. what do you think about Trolls presentation?

Recent reads were good.
Shobhit, your piece was vivid and was a great take on game play from SC(C).
Yumesama's phone conversation. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Loungct, I like how Anderson is described, your format and delivery is great, but he sounds too awesome.
I want an averager operative. Can we have a guy whose an asset but not a superstar some time. You know, the guy who gets the jobs that don't have to be perfect...where collateral damages aren't the end of the World like. Where the one thing he does really good, is survive, but that's about it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
That guy would resemble my initial play throughs pretty well.

@Shobhit
Cool. I don't know that my average spy would be more realistic. I mean, they only take the guys that are the best don't they?
Mistakes have to happen though. I just want to see the guy who's not the best of the best...maybe the worst of the best. Might be an opportunity for a bit of humor in there.
Looking forward to it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
