Hate to sound sappy, but Rocksmith seriously is the game I've been dreaming of and waiting for for a long 30 years. I've started and stopped practicing the guitar so many times I can't count them. Nothing has motivated me to continue pushing on. Rocksmith is going to change that. I can tell after just a few hours of gameplay (tender fingertip time again!). I'm so excited to finally have the tool that is going to push me forward!

This is a niche title and obviously won't sell in the billions like Rock Band/Guitar Hero. But hopefully that won't deter Ubisoft from continuing to develop the content and deliver DLC for many years to come. That's my greatest fear now that I've found this miracle tool - that it will fade away and leave us all wanting more. STICK WITH THIS, UBISOFT! Bring on the DLC, my wallet is open and waiting!

Now, how about a Mac version too? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'm still not sure if that title will work as I will.

So go tell that crappy Rocksmith band over there to stop ****-blocking! Oh, wait! you can't because they don't have a website or formal email address.

This game is awesome! Takes some practice to get used to the annotation, but after that, it makes learning songs so much more easy. I even have Guitar Pro and prefer Rocksmith a million times over.

Rocksmith is fantastic. Please continue support it with songs.

The whole real guitar thing makes Rocksmith so much more engaging then it's competitors http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I stopped playing RB2 when I realized it would take the same amount of time to learn a song for real compared to getting 100% expert.

unbelievably, this game came out just a month after I bought my first guitar. Fate? :-)

It is indeed just great!

Actually the band do have a website

http://www.rocksmith-music.com

As well as pushing it as a game, Ubi should be trying to push it into music shops too.

I saw it on the shelf at Long and Mcquade yesterday. That's a good start http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's too bad Ubisoft made the game a commercial for Gibson/Epiphone, because I can see some real potential for guitar manufacturers to use Rocksmith as a platform for seriously growing their business with first-time guitar players/buyers.

I agree with all the above posts, this game is awesome. REALLY does teach you to play guitar. I bought an electric/acoustic for this game, http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif So when I learn these songs I can sit around a group of people where ever i may be and just play for them.

My feelings exactly. Amazingly, I didn't hear about the game until a few days before release, which was actually a good thing since it was hard enough waiting that short amount of time, I can't image having to wait months. But as soon as I saw the initial videos, that's exactly what I thought as well. Finally, they got it right. Not that I didn't enjoy the hell out of rockband and GH, but I never "practiced" on those games. I just didn't see the point, whereas with Rocksmith I can justify put in some serious time and effort because it's not just a game

yeah I'm pleasantly surprised by this whole thing, I've been using the game 2-3 hours a day since buying it last week -- this is truly a groundbreaking revolution in guitar instruction, and UBI should partner with all the guitar industry to expand the reach for everyone's benefit.

as a longtime musician (30+ years), who never picked up a guitar, to be able to now actually get playing immediately was one of the best musical "ah hah" experiences in my life. big thanks.

mostly i want to learn how to play, so I can use my behringer mixer and play electric guitar along with my favorite concert blurays (ac/dc, ruch, police, madonna, top-40, classic rock and others)... learning w/rocksmith got me started, now I'm picking up scales and tablature from other guitar instruction as well as rocksmith.

you guys did a great job, and this is the start of something very special, for years to come. Thanks! World-class idea and implementation. You worked very hard on this, and we're all very grateful.

rock on,

k

I specifically registered in the forum to say this as well. THANK YOU UBISOFT, this is awesome! I'm learning a REAL SKILL!!!

This is awesome. Loving it. Thanks guys.

To be honest I'm surprised you started with the guitar though. Wouldn't "Learn to MIDI" be cheaper and easier for most people? Make that next! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i've been having a hard time choosing between Rocksmith or Assassin's Creed Revelations for Christmas. I've been playing the AC series since the first game, and i have been playing guitar for 2 years.... but I think im going to go with Rocksmith... dammit Ubisoft and their team releasing awesome games in the same year!

When I think about the hundreds (OK, thousands) of hours I've spent playing video games over the years, and think what I could have accomplished had I spent that time on a "game" (read: "entertaining diversion") like Rocksmith, I have serious regrets.

Go with Rocksmith!

as a casual guitar player of 15 years, this game is AWESOME! why? because i get to jam to fun tunes, my guitar tone is perfectly modelled for the songs, I get to learn new songs..and finally, it's MOTIVATIONAL. that's the best thing for me. I'm motivated to work through an entire song to get the highest score I can, whereas if i'm just playing on my own to guitarpro or whatever else, i'm not motivated to learn every detail of a song (or even play at all. lol). good job Ubi!
