On a DF map, is it possible to create a Home Base for flyable seaplanes (A6M2-N) where they will spawn on the water?

I've flown on a DF map and in a co-op mission with seaplane bases (spawning in the water). Not sure how it was done, but it is possible.

Some maps have airfields in the water. These are seaplane bases. Not sure which maps have them. I think Murmansk has one or two. I am sure some of the Pacific maps have them.

Well, I thought I was clear, but I guess not clear enough.

I know you can spawn seaplanes in coop missions and I know some maps have airfields in the water.

I want to CREATE a seabase for seaplanes on a DF map in a location of my choosing. Of course, I can use Test Runway #4, but that results in an air-atart. I want the seaplanes to spawn on the water.

It can't be done, unfortunately http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I remember something strange happened online some long time ago. I joined a dogserver selected my homebase which I assumed it was a carrier because it was on water. Clicked fly and...found myself sinking in the water. The carrier was 100 m away. Tried once again and then moved to another homebase. It might just be that the mission designer set the carrier somewhere clode to a default sea base which will explain things and will not be helpful. It was long time ago but I kind of recall that the place was pretty far from the shore so perhaps there is a way.

I've spawned from seabases before in a DF map http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Maybe if you placed a carrier and then edited the .mis file to move the spawn coordinates? Do the carrier and the spawn coordinates have the same line in the .mis code? I've never looked actually.

The spawn points don't appear in the .mis file at all, they're generated by the game "on the fly".

For a dogfight map I did it with test runway 4, built the seaplane base using nearby villages and objects. The player will start in the air, but when it's time to land it will just have to land inside the seaplane base and it'll be fine.

Boosher, Aviar is asking for a trick to make the floatplanes spawn on water in dogfight map, away from seaplane bases which are present by default on some maps (e.g. Marianas)

Rgr, I know. But a variation of the way I did it is probably the only way you can "simulate" a seabase.

You can't do it I'm afraid in DF Mode http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Here are two shots of what I did. If you want more please, just say so.

Pretty pictures...but it's not scenery that I was looking for.

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to find a workaround. As Mick Jagger used to say...."You can't always get what you want..."

Like i said, the only workaround is an airspawn.
