View Full Version : Chaos Theory Freezes on Kokubo Level [PC]

Okay I posted this in the PC section but I guess it would be more suitable here. So I get to the point to where the conversation with Otomo happens automatically, and suddenly the screen goes black, and I have to power down the computer manually. Then I reboot and reload my last save game and reach the same point only to have the same thing happen. The next time I try, I save right when the conversation starts and then I try to load it up but I only get a windows error message. I have tried replaying the same mission from the begining and I have gotten up to the part where you need to stabilize Otomo and then the same thing happens. Any ideas on what to do or what is going on? Thanks for any suggestions.

There has been a problem there for many people. Must be a bad batch of discs. Don't know if there is a solution, but that is the last scene in the game.

Darn that sucks... I play the whole game only to miss the ending. I tried to play the ending vid through the video folder in the game directory but obviously wmp wont read the file extension. Thanks anyway.

Do you have more info about the bad disks?
I am wondering as I am having this problem but I purchased the game last year played it through no problems. This time I played it through once fine then it started crashing when speaking to Otomo a couple of times. I was able to pass that point once and save. It now crashes when I try to exit the tunnel to save Otomo. If I load earlier saves I can always pass the video with Otomo. Other than that the crash is exactly as described by others in the forum.

jzorro...do you think that maybe changing the disc with another one who is working properly might solve this problem?!

It might, but I could not say for sure. I think someone said it worked if they did the last part with thermal vision on. Might try that.

jzorro...YOU'RE THE MAN !!! IT WORKS !!! It works everytime with thermal vision.I just played the final part over 6 times with no crashing at all.So to all the persons who have problems with crashing in the final seconds of the game THIS IS THE SOLUTION: USE THERMAL VISION ALL THE WAY UNTIL THE FINAL VIDEO COMES UP !!!
