Why should we wait until after the game comes out to start *****ing and moaning about the fms and dms?

Please allow me the honor (if I'm not too late) of being the first to complain about cods .50 moddelling. It's commonly known *FACT* that the standard tiger killing practice of allied pilots was to ricochet their .50s off of the moon, into the tiger tanks gun barrels, instantly killing everything in a 50 mile radius.

In addition, I would like to point out that the bf109 e1 is .025 kmh too slow at 4675 meters! Such a blatant disregard of this aircraft's historical performance levels cannot go unignored.

Dood, you're so wrong.

Only an idiot would try to bounce bullets off the moon. You're supposed to use the moon's gravity and slingshot the rounds around the moon back to earth, THEN ricochet them off the deck into the tank's belly, you moron...

Luckily there will be NO .50's in Cliffs of Dover!
You will all have to moan about your .303 popguns not blasting countless German bombers out of the sky like you have seen in the movies.

Having just watched the trailer again, I wanna ***** about the graphics!

Knowing Dover and cliffs around there well, I can guarantee you that there are NO TREES along the shore line beneath the cliffs.

I mean, come on, so much detail when it comes to the aircraft, but trees at the bottom of cliffs where the tide comes right up to the base, hmmmmmmm!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Can I be the first to pre-***** about the fact that the RAF speech pack does not use the appropriate, historically-correct jargon, old chap?
If my wingmen don't start saying "cabbage crates, four o' clock","bally Jerry behind you Wilkins, old top" and "Crikey, Johnson's gone for a Burton!" on the double, I shall be jolly cross! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

That's going to be a blast... he waves hands and shouts something on czechglish in his pit and you wonder whether he's saying that he really likes your girlfriend or that you have three yellow nosed 109s closing on your tail.

Actually, the trailer was made from a months old beta version, I believe the trees at the shore have been corrected since then.

It was trialled, but unfortunately the ballistics of the .50 round are too straight to hit any point over the horizon. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

You obviously have no education on .50 cal ballistics or penetrative power, one would simply have to shoot at the Earth under a narrow angle towards Germany, the bullets would just go through the earth and out the other side with minimal loss of speed and trajectory, thus removing any need for compensation due to the Earth's curvature.

You guys are crazy if you remotely think that mater can stop .50cals.
Or better yet that something so feeble such is Earth gravity could affect it.
You guys have been subjected to heavy axis propaganda.

It takes the quantum mechanics depths knowledge to create highly effective (but not proven impossible to create-sustain for significant periods of time) antimater shielding , consisting of two thick titanium alloys with the antimater layer between.
In theory that could give the stürmbock FW-190A8 (proven to be the only fighter effectively capable of carrying such armour weight) pilot just enough time to bail out after his fighter has been subjected to, say, B-17 return fire (if excorted by Conquerer of galaxies, the P-51D, that leaves no real chance to the pesky FW-190A whose pilot can consider himself lucky even if he spots one and return to base, since such case haven't been reported yet).
Anyhow, the bullet will of course penetrate the titanium layers like Swiss cheese but the antimater might slow down the bullet, Matrix like fashion, so the pilot gets enough time to bail out.
Of course after the bullet exits antimater layer it will regain its original speed.
No one really knows what happens with .50 cals as they, after they penetrated everything on their path, end up in deep space possibly endangering other galaxies.

PS. contact CERN guys about this issue.

TheGrunch

...and that's why .50 cals have to be undermodeled in the game, because having a flat trajectory, muzzle velocity of c and an armor penetration value of infinity is unbalanced. True story.

OMG, I think you just managed to find a perfectly reasonable explanation for there being an open reactor vent into the emperors throne room. They just knew there was no point in armoring their reactor after the rebel's p-51s killed the first death star!

Did you know that...

...95,3 % of all space junk in Earth's orbit consists of .50 caliber bullets flying a steady orbit, result of their impressive muzzle velocity.

...That most bullets fired were way too fast to stay in earths orbit. The above must therefore be the ones shot through the Earth towards Germany.

...Because of the MV, Lucky Luke had to use special revolvers chambered for .50 cal ammo in his famous "faster than shadow" stunt. Pic: http://www.sesseler.de/Comic/Lucky_Luke/Lucky_Luke.jpg
