Doesn't he look kinda remind you of George Clooney - but spy-like?
They should make a movie. I'd totally be a merc and breathe like Darth Vader.

Hey Eekers,
You're so right. George would be perfect for the part. I never really noticed that before... probably because I'm a guy... we tend to miss these things... you know. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

There are plans in the works for a movie...from Paramount I think. They're hoping to cast the guy from The Punisher, I think.

Speaking of Sam Fisher, the Chaos Theory beta went live yesterday! If you are in the Top 50 at Team Shadownet or a GameSpy Premium member you can download and play now! Otherwise, they will be opening it up in a week to everyone.

I hope you can save anywhere you want on the XBox version, kinda like the PC version of the prevous games.
Checkpoints are nice but, sometimes just not enough.

Sam Fisher is voiced by Michael Ironside, great b-movie actor.
He was in Scanners, Starship Troopers, voiced alot of toon characters, and was the violent "Richter" in Total Recall.
He doesn't have the Sam look, but he IS the voice. And it's a good one.
Hollywood may have to do the whole Darth Vader thing. Have one actor play the character and Ironside voice it. It's the voice that makes him Sam Fisher! Not the actor.
Although Clooney does have a deep throaty voice. He'd be good for the role.

You know, it's weird, but when you see Fisher's face in-game in the first one, he kind of looks like Gary Oldman. To me, at least. It's uncanny.

1. I would be down with George Clooney as Sam Fisher. I was talking with someone the other day (Rhoulette, I think?) about who should play Sam in a movie. The only problem is that George Clooney has really dark eyes, where Sam's are light.
... I guess I could stand the Punisher being Sam, but he looks so eternally baleful it's depressing.
2. Yes, Chaos Theory does have Quick Save rather than at checkpoints.
3. Rawr for Sam Fisher. He's such a great dark hero. I got to see the Chaos Theory trailer a few weeks ago and it made me all shivery.

You just helped me decide which system to buy CT for. I wanted to get it on XBox but, the checkpoints were annoying in the first 2 (hence why I own them on PC).
My Friends bought the original on XBox and never finished it, because of the Checkpoints.
Thanks Jinx,
I'll be purchasing it for Xbox when it's out. Thanks for helping me make the final decision, you're the best http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sam Fisher is voiced by Michael Ironside?
Hell yeah, he was Jester in Top Gun. That's awesome.
Punisher was a horrible film. The fact that the script was a trainwreck doesn't make up for that guy's performance.

I'd like to see Clive Owen as Sam Fisher. He's suitably grim and dead sexy... but I'd like to see Clive Owen in any movie possible, so I don't know if he's *really* the best possible candidate. The british accent might get in the way.
I'm definitely holding out to see him as the next James Bond though...

Clive Owen as bond? No way. There was talk of either Eric Bana or Hugh Jackman, and I'm all for an Aussie bond.

Look, Eric Bana is the Hulk. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. Those are inescapable impressions, and they're not conducive to Bond-ism. (Troy, anyone? - I was waiting for Eric Bana to turn green the whole time)
Clive Owen was the BMW film driver, and you can't deny that his on-screen presence always has great intensity. He'd make an awesome Bond. And from what I hear he's one of the frontrunners. Yay!

Hehe, I think that if you are gonna photoshop Brad Pitt, you might as well do it to Johnny Depp- cuz that's what all the girls seem to drool over nowadays. Sad really- the guy almost seems gay.
BTW, funny you should mention street fighter. I went to blockbuster armed with 50 dollars in gift cards and one of my purchases was that movie; just cuz I needed to increase my video-game/movie library a little more. I already have both Tomb Raiders, FFTSW (goodness knows why) and am looking into the Resident Evil movies. That's because I saw the second one, and the two pack only costs five dollars more than just buying Apocalypse seperately.
I need to know if it is even worth seeing the Mortal Combat flubs. I know they're bad, but how bad?

Hugh Jackman's a lot more capable as an actor than just being the snarling beast thingy. Seeing him cast in Australian films where he's genuinely acting really shows his ability. The dude does a broadway show where he's a gay entertainer for god's sake. I'm pretty sure he can escape any type cast given to him, and he'd make an excellent bond.
Bana, on the other hand. Well, he's terrible at accents and I think it'd be funny if the next 007 occasionally slipped out something Australian. But hey, that's just me.

Hugh Jackman is a versatile actor..he's even acted in romantic comedies like "Kate & Leopold" and "Someone Like You".
And don't forget about him in "Swordfish". mmmm Halle Berry was nice in that movie.

Clive Owen was also the main character (the character you play) in the old PC game, 'Privateer 2: The Darkening' (Christopher Walken also featured in it), back in the day when they actually bothered to make full-motion video for cutscenes, not this 'game-rendered rubbish' we see most of the time now. Good game actually, nice engine and decent plot to boot.
