I guess Ubi has added an Offline mode so you do not have to connect to the internet to play SH5.

I saw this post (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1121062387/m/7291024859) over at the SH5 forum that tells a bit more about it.

I performed a web search and discovered that there will be a gold edition offered through digital download only.
Maybe they haven't come to their senses. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif
I don't do digital downloads.

Great!

Now I can play a game that doesn't work all by myself.

I'm still waiting for them to release the patch to make it work in the first place.

Me either. If I'm going to pay for it it better come on a disk.

Too little, too late. No desire to play SH5.

I was thinking about getting SH5 on sale but I have one major concern....are all the voices in German or was that just the very limited clips I watched?

I fully understand the concept of making it more realistic by having all the reports in kraut(no offense) but I no speak-a-the german and that would annoy the hell out of me.

Ragincajin

Take the money and donate it to toys for tots. that way a kid will be happy and you will be happy you didn't but a game so full of bugs it doesn't work.

Good thing for you then that the DVD version is only $6 (http://www.amazon.com/Silent-Hunter-Battle-Atlantic-Pc/dp/B002PAIPQO) I guess.

While Ubisoft has completely abandoned the product, the player community has made huge strides in making the game playable. From fixing core bugs, to adding brand new functionality, to improved AI, to a complete war campaign, to improved graphics and steady work at a custom unit importer Silent Hunter 5 is no longer the game that Ubisoft forgot about. It's extremely playable and enjoyable now.

No, you can choose English voices with a German accent or full German voices when you install.

That's $6.00 more than I'm willing to spend Eoweth http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif.
