I just downloaded it from a GamersHell mirror because I can't seem to load GamersHell and there it was.

*Edit* For those of you who are wondering how I got this while it says unavailable, it was through the iinet mirror(linked) which gets a copy of pretty much all new GamersHell files. Just because GamersHell hasn't posted links to the files yet doesn't mean it's not already on the servers/mirrors.

I can confirm the patch is out on gamershell. Here is the link http://gamershell.com/patch_download_archive.html It also is the international version and the German version. Fingers Crossed...Bull **** it isn't there yet???? You can click on the link but the file isn't available yet. My hopes are fading

Just gave the game a spin and I finally can load past where I kept crashing and was perfectly fine from then on! I'm uploading it atm, will post back with the link.

That is exactly what I thought. When I saw it there I checked back here and found no mention of it which I thought was very strange.

zellar_401: As I said, I downloaded it from a mirror which already has it which I linked to. But it is only for people in Australia on the iinet ISP.

For all of you who still have crash problems: try to increase your pagefile size. With patch 1.01 I had to max it out at 4095MB so I could play for over an hour without crashes. Arkane stated somewhere in the forums that maybe some people with older hardware might have to use increased pagefile sizes to get rid of crashes. Just a thought...

Oh and just to show you that I have some real piece of old hardware:

AMD AthlonXP 3200+
1GB Corsair DDR 400
1TB (2x)Samsung SATA HDDs
Sapphire Radeon X850Pro
All drivers updated.

The game speed is just fine at my recommended settings.

Open your control panel-> System -> Advanced -> in the german windows 2k version it is now the first button "Systemleistungsoption", I guess it's something like system performance options -> there you can change the size of your pagefile and also the location of the file if you need/like to do that.

This should be almost the same on WindowsXP all versions. (ok you have to additionally select the advanced tab in the system performance window AFAIK)

DL and installed patch from UBI site and restarted my comp after just in case. When Steam launched it started DL and updating Dark Messiah too. Why is that happening when I already applied the patch myself? Is this normal? Anyone know the answer to this? I'm curious if the double updating isn't what's causing the problem. Also am I supposed to use Steam to launch it or Use the DVD created shortcut? Thanks in advance for any info on these matters.

Ive downloaded the patch from the mirror sites and nothing has changed for me the game performance seems ok when it actually runs... I keep getting the same old crashes on loading saved games etc... mm.exe. and directx8 drivers bla bla bla... anybody got any advice i would really appriciate it...

Ripclaw101.....you have the Steam version and the Retail version???? Or did you register your game with Steam? Or did it D/L Steam files needed for multi-player. I read on the Steam site that you should use one or the other. Either D/L game from Steam or Install from dvd. I have the retail dvd and I installed it from that. I don't have the multi-player installed so it doesn't go to Steam....this could be the problem....you will have to research this on Steam forums....but I believe you might be getting file conflicts.......???

im so-so feelings about the patch...i can see the cinematics now ^_^ but...THE GAME RUNS SLOW AS HELL FOR ME NOW!!*cries* i get like 15 fps max now with everything on low when before the patch the only prob i had was the cinematics but i ran at like 70 fps.

As I expected when I launched the game STEAM did me a wonderful solid and updated the game for me. THANX STEAM, YA MORONS ! After what happened to patch 1.01 ya think they would have learned something and waited or made it optional ? No, of course not, so here's my vote: ZERO ! And I expected nothing more. By the way did I mention that I can now see the videos ? Great job guys. Well I can see them now and all it cost me was the game play. I get a whopping 3 FPS with all option settings set to minimum. Before the patch I had great game play with high FPS and fluid motion with all the recommended setting, some on medium and some on high but no videos and no elemental weapons due to that ridiculous checkerboard overlay. Now I can see great videos and that's ALL ! What kind of people you got working there ? A bunch of liars and thieves. One picks your pocket for 50 bucks and the other swears nobody did you must have had a hole in your pocket and lost it. This is the worst game I've ever had to deal with in 15 years. Ubi, Arkane, the game DM, the patches, the long waits with no info, the BS fix list they put on the forum, its all BS ! I've had it with UBI/ARKANE they are all a bunch of frauds picking our pockets and putting out this trash and calling it a "great game with rave reviews" yeah for a blind person perhaps. How much did those reviews cost you ? I hope you didn't spend too much of our money on it ! On second thought I hope you blew it all, it would serve you right ! First you ruin the game by releasing it too soon, then you ruin it a second time by releasing a BS patch 1.01 and now after 6 long weeks of waiting you ruin it a third time with this BS patch called 1.02. What world do you people live in ? You're in buisness and don't know squat about "Truth in Advertising" ! If I ran this company I'd sack the lot of you for doing this.
