I know this thread is going to get spammed, but I'd like to see what the actual Twilight fans thought of New Moon! I went and saw it on opening day and absolutely LOVED IT.. unlike Twilight, New Moon really followed the book!

I already can't wait till June 2010 for Eclipse!!

I loved it as well! I was worried how it was gonna capture the first part of the book with Bella...but I thought it ended up being really good. I LOVED how the volturi were portrayed! Totally awesome.
I've been wondering...does anyone else think the last movie is going to be really awkward for younger girls? I'm curious as to how they're gonna pull that one off lol..
Also,
Team Edward, ftw http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Oh wow! I was not expecting to read that response. Im a huge fan when it comes to the Twilight series, but I thought the New Moon movie was horrible!

I even had to walk out for 10 mins to take a break from the emoness and bad acting of it all.

Since book 2 was the worse out of the bunch I thought maybe they would focus more on the only exciting part of the story and that is when Bella went to Italy. Sadly that part was only highlighted for all of 10 minutes.

I agree that book 2 was the worst one! It annoyed me to no end pretty much the whole time I read it! But like you said, it was pretty emo lol and that's basically what book 2 was! Bella being a heartbroken emo that doesn't seem to wash her hair..hahaha.
As far as portraying the bad parts, the movie did well, imo. I was kind of afraid they weren't gonna do a good job showing how depressed Bella was...I felt like that was important, even though it IS annoying.
I haven't read the second book in a long time..maybe if I had read it before watching the movie I would agree that it was pretty terrible lol but I've kinda told myself to not have high expectations about movies based on books. Especially Harry Potter...the last two movies totally disappointed me there. I'll have to read the book again and then maybe I'll see what you're talking about Brooke!

@Marcus: Embrace Twilight, embrace it! lol

I'm really getting mixed responses from everyone! I'm Team Jacob so the movie was awesome for me! I LOVE Taylor Lautner and he really brought out my ideal Jacob http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I was so happy with what they did with Bella's "Edward visions", I had a hard time picturing what they could of done, but it was awesome!

Twilight series didn't even make it on my popcorn movie list http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif but some of my friends who dislike Twilight had good things to say about New Moon. I kinda prefer the Victorian portrayal of Vampires. I absolutely loved Interview with a Vampire.

i'm going this week, but I have to say I thought the books ALL go downhill one after the other. Twilight was amazing, but each and every consecutive book just got worse so I am not expecting much except a higher budget movie!

That is just crazy talk! Book number 4 (Breaking Dawn) was the best book and book 3 (Eclipse) was really good too.

EDIT: SPOILER

I actually can't wait the Breaking Dawn movie when all the Vampires come to Forks. Hopefully they will hear everyones complaints and by the time they film the last movie they will actually put some time and energy into making it.

Always this. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif So far even the Harry Potters have failed me. New Moon was by far much better than Twilight. Acting, Directing, Effects, Soundtrack, etc. >

And connecting it to the book, even though, it was the worst in the series, it wasn't as unbearable as I thought it was going to be. They kept it alive with comedy and heart. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I enjoyed it to the extreme, and look forward to Eclipse.

The books are the only way to go. The movies are trash in comparison.

If you have ever been a teenager in love you'll love this series.

I ended up taking my girlfriend to the midnight premier since she is obsessed with the series...and it was probably to biggest mistake I've made in a while.

The whole time, I couldn't help but say to myself how much of an emo b**ch Bella was.

I have to agree with Valkyrie....they do get worse as the series continues. When I read Breaking Dawn I was pretty much saying "WTF??" the entire book! I thought it was just completely out there!

I'll be going this week to see New Moon. I loved the Volturi in the book, but I see here that it only took up about 10 minutes in the movie. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

How was Dakota Fanning as Jane? I wasn't sure how I felt about that......she's almost too famous to be in that role!

Well here is some disappointing news.
Because of the current success of this idiotic emo series, Hollywood now wants to reboot the Crow. But they are going to update the story to make it more relevant to today's audiences (?) and they plan on changing the makeup also.
Thanks Twilight. Nothing like your influence to help Hollywood suits miss the entire point of the Crow story.

weaselboy
11-24-2009, 02:31 PM
The ****? They already tried to ruin the Crow with, what, three sequels and a T.V. show? But the original still retains some level of awesome that cannot be stripped away by mere sequels. To redo it a la Twilight is to **** on everything that was the original Crow. Twilight and Hollywood can go die in a fire if filmmakers go through with this. A plague o'er both their houses! * 3

They both have more to offer as interesting characters. Especially Lestat. I think Lestat really does shows what someone's personality would shape into if they are offered immortality against their wishes.

And in the book, she had what 6 words? So, it's not that different. She plays a much higher role in the others.

I'm not sure if any of you noticed, but Cameron Bright-ALEC (Xmen, UltraViolet) was also in the Movie, guy just stood there, but got paid MILLIONS. . .so, it's nothing now. . but soon to come, I'm sure girls will be drooling. I met him at Comic Con Chicago, and he said he was thrilled for the role (because of the future movies to come), and I told him "Thrilled for a role where you just stand there?" He said yes, and just smiled http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I feel as though the books got better as time went on, the story, love, and conflict grew. And that's what I like to see. First book was laid out, you met your characters. Second, you clearly had a problem, but nothing happened, and it was pretty boring in the beginning. I understand she lost Edward. It's sad. . .But idk, just the way it was written, I wanted to pass out from boredom. And from Eclipse and on, it was non stop reading for me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I love vampire movies. I def like Interview with a vampire. I don't think I could ever get tired of that movie. I like the Twilight Saga so far. I think many people were disappointed because Edward Cullen wasn't in New Moon very much. Now if they would have read the book then maybe they would understand. Anyways I liked both Twilight and New Moon. I am in between team edward and team jacob. I don't think I can choose. Both are good looking guys although I do think Robert Pattinson may be a little better at acting then Taylor. But Taylor is still young so he might come around and blow us away with his acting ability in so upcoming movies. Oh I wouldn't recommend asking your hubbie or bf to go to any movies from the Twilight Saga. If they do go you will just hear word vomit the whole time. That is why I went with my cousin Samantha. I asked my husband once if he wanted to go to new moon and he said " F*** no what do I looked like"!!!!! I just don't want him to feel left out but he was more then happy to pass. We are going to go watch Daybreakers and Legion when they come out.
