Templars Treasure Chests?

Help me out, please!!!!
After you kill a Templar Knight, what do you do about the treasure chest he is guarding? Anything?

I just want to be sure I am not missing something or doing something wrong... It would really suck if I had to go back and retrieve stuff out of those chests (ie Oblivion) to complete the game.

No. You cannot interact with the chests the Templars were guarding: they're there basically to a) give the templars a fixed point to return to and b) to help you identify a templar when you see one.

The idea being that Altair hates Templars so much that he'll kill one regardless of where he is or what he's doing.
