Hello AC community, I was just wondering with Christmas coming up. Idk if I should get this game. I obviously want it for the multiplayer, but for the singleplayer do I need to play AC2 before AC3? Or will I get the basic idea of what's going on? I dont want to play the game and have no idea what they're talking about if you know what I mean rofl.

Happy holidays! Please respond http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You'll be completely lost if you don't play AC2.
Should probably play AC 1 as well..

Welcome to the forums. The multiplayer is great (But I'm weird) and I STRONGLY recommend you to at least play the second, but you should play the first just because it makes you feel like a real assassin. Plus, the games are cheap. The first one felt too repetitive, but it strongly immersed you into the game.

I hope you take my advice and happy hunting.

You can always read about the first games, if having to play them is not to your liking.

AC:B does have a synopsis in the beginning of what happened in the previous games' story.

Would you guys happen to know any websites that have ac1 and ac2 story summarized in text like a story? So I can read it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif? I dont really want to get 3 games, just 1 game.

You could watch a playthrough on youtube or somewhere, but I really would suggest you play the second game because the Venice part is really good.

I suggest getting AC2 first. Ezio is the main charector in AC2 and ACB will make a lot more sense.

I can't recommend playing ACB singleplayer unless you know at least the game mechanics from AC1 - and the story, even with the synopsis, is REALLY tough to pick up without playing at least AC2 - AC1 would be beneficial as well.

You CAN find plot info on both games from wikipedia (and the AC Wiki), but it's not as easy to understand as it is when you experience things.

You can quite comfortably pick up the multiplayer without needing any background in the story, and minimal understanding of the game mechanics. it operates on a mostly-separate thread aspect of the game world, so there's minimal interaction between the multiplayer game story and the "main" plotline.

So if you're mainly wanting to focus on that anyway, go ahead, hold off on playing story mode until you've finished 2.

Didn't end up getting the game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif but still wanting it. My friend told me today that the game pretty much catches you up on everything after the first sequence?

correct, but if you start to get brain-raped by this game in the end (which you will) buy the 1st two games. only $60 together.

It has a VERY terrible summary of the first two games. I have preordered all the AC games so far. I played them in order, and I have to say again, the summary is NOT good at the beginning of the game.
