The screen shots look so amazing, the vids top of the line. But I'm gonna have to spend another $1000.00 bucks just to play it in all its glory.

Oh well.

Some things need to be done.........

So, whats the best MB and Vid card to pair up? NO intel carp!

If you're gonna upgrade, wait a little longer until there is a good MB that supports AMD 64 and PCI-e with SLI. I'm not too sure, but last I checked the selection was kind of slim and not so great, they outperformed everything in the previous generation, but no where near their potential...

Right now I think Intel has the jump on the PCI-e MB's, but like you, I will rather wait for the AMD...

I can wait, but only until game release.

Then its "I gotta fly that new apache"! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well, the CD will not change, install it, down a few options, then play it, then when you upgrade your computer, then crank everything up to max and "let 'er rip."

it just sucks though that my system is now getting to that point where in order to play a good game, its time to upgrade.

Its only a 1.4 gig AMD with a GF 4200ti card, and I've gotten a few good years of hard gaming out of it, so ya, maybe its time.

hey I got a GF4200 ti 64 and its still giving me great results..In fact I played half Life 2 with beautiful resorts (everything maxed out)
My CPU however is 2.2 G http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
But yes you are right upgrade time is coming along http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I was truly captivated by the concept of BF2... Until I saw, in a recent video, an M1A2 Abrams being blown up by an 40mm M203-launched grenade. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Still- perhaps I should at least give my X800XT Platinum Edition one challenging game to play! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

It could have also been that the m1 was quite damaged and that was the coup de grace. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Blasphemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The M1 could be in the process of exploding from a tactical nuke and the 40mm grenade will have NO affect. Heck... a 40mm Grenade will not even hurt the word "M1" wriiten down on paper - it is that tough! I know this as I have been brainwashed into knowing this. All you "exploding M1 heathens(sp)" know nothing.... NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would fight on the other side just to have the T-80 and the MiG. Not that I think the T-80 is better than the M1, I'm simply more interested in it.

Ok what if i hit you at point blank range with a 150mm artillery shell from one of those mobile artillery systems? Lol, brings back memories from Desert Combat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It would probly get my attention.... nothing more. Just kidding. Actually, depending on the ammo, that /is/ all it would do as point blank wouldnt let the round arm... But we wont get into that.

All I can say is if I were to let you get close enough to "direct lay" on my M1. I think I would get out and ask to pull the lanyard on your artillery piece as I have aparently lost my touch.

Uh... yeah it will.
My new dell is a 3.8ghz, 1g Ram @533, SB Audigy 2 ZS, and Nvidia fx 6800

Not listed to say my computer is any better than anyone elses... but It will play it and I imagine it will play it with no worries. If it can crunch doom III maxed out at higher resolutions with no problems (and that game is a resource hog) BUT I could be suprised.

Ok, what if a soldier manages to drop several landmines infront of the tank AND dropped some C4 on the hull for good measure? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I bet it'd play on the XPS as well, even though it's an overpriced piece of junk.

BF2 looks cool i just know that in BFV tanks could be hurt from grenades and stuff. If you guys want a good mod for BFV go here:

http://pointofexistence.com/

My buddies and i play it all the time. Its really fun and the tanks dont have that 'arcade' feel like the BF games have.

Actually Guidon, Doom III is an easy game to run. My rig is a few years old, the most recent piece of hardware on it is a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, and I can run Doom III with everything maxed without any hiccups.

I don't know, the fact that Dells use Intels already set into stone that I will never buy a Dell.

Guidon666
02-10-2005, 06:57 AM
Yeah,

Keep in mind I upgraded from a AMD 1.5ghz with a nvidia 5600. So I noticed an Incredible difference in game play.

I've never really been one to care about the amd vs pent. Not that much into the computers where I notice the difference.

I'm not trying to promote Dell. I just happened to find an incredible deal on the 8400 using a few rebates, discounts, and coupons from Tweak3d.net (Essentially after being able to stack the discounts i got it for a little more than 50% off the original cost.)

Demon_Mustang

Yah, that's a big reason why some people buy Dells, there are always deals on them. Personally I like to build my own system, I'm a big Asus motherboard fanboy, and a lot of personal preferences that only the really high-end computer companies offer and I simply cannot afford those...
