Is it true that you can never carry both a machine gun and a sniper rifle? Not being able to take out enemies from a distance with a sniper rifle and then running in machine gun blazing is spoiling my enjoyment of the game. Why limit the fun in this way? I just don't understand. Please change this to limit the number of guns you can carry but not the type!

That would make the most sense, yes, and that is something that has been successfully done in plenty of other games(dare I mention Call of Duty?).
It is silly that you can carry around an Uzi, a heavy rocket launcher and a bleedin' bazooka, all at once, but you can't carry a small gun, a submachinegun and a regular sniper rifle.

It keeps people from holding a Carl G, RPG, and semi-auto grenade launcher.

Part of it has to do with game balance rather than realism. Making the player carefully plan his attack.

you can carry both a machine gun and a sniper rifle (machine gun is special, sniper rifle is primary) but you cannot carry both an ASSAULT rifle and sniper rifle (both are primary)

Did you know: In Far Cry 2 you can carry a sniper rifle, a light machine gun and a grenade launcher!
You guys are so funny, your rant is based on an assumption...which is wrong. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Sniper rifles (Springfield, Druganov, AS 440) belong to the categorie "primary weapon", together with assault rifles and the barel grenade launcher. Light machine guns (PKM, SAW) belong to the categorie "special weapons", together with rocket launchers. The light grenade launcher belongs to the category "secondary weapon", together with pistols and machine pistols.
So you CAN carry a sniper, an mg and a grenade launcher if you like. But you cannot carry an RPG and a machine gun, or the barrelled grenade launcher and a sniper or assault rifle.
For some things you have to decide. But in your save houses you can always store two sets of every kind of weapon in your weapon boxes (each category has it's own box). And at the weapons dealer you can get and exchange any guns you bought.
Hope that clears things up a little bit. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Actually you can use a Sniper Rifle as your Assault Weapon, a M249 Light Machine Gun as a Special or Heavy Weapon, and a UZI of Mac-10 as a Side Arm. In the real world the UZI is classified as an Assault Rifle, so its basically having an Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, and LMG

While another primary weapon slot would be nice, I don't think it's neccessary since there's such a vast array of weapons that you can put in each of the slots. If you want a sniper rifle, you can still have a sub machinegun AND a light machinegun as well. If you want a machinegun in your special slot, you can still have explosive weapons in your secondary AND primary slot.
However, you look at it, you can always come up with a superb loadout of weapons.
I'm glad they didn't let you carry more. Two big weapons plus a small sidearm and grenades and molotovs are as much as a person would be able to carry. And if you REALLY want to assault an area with a sniper and an AK, snipe from a distance then run in with a SMG and pick up one of the dead guys' AKs. If you didn't have to do this every now and again you wouldn't get the sweet weapon jams and malfunctions, because you'd always have pristine weapons from the shop.

Absolutely - nothing gets the adrenaline pumping like being in the middle of a firefight & having to work the action on your POS weapon as you run for cover... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
*nice touch, Ubisoft.*

Nah mate, UZI fires 9mm round, SMG. But hay, its a tight weapon, if the UZI doesnt work for you, the MAC-10 fires .45 cal rounds which is pretty tight.

I always use the following setups:
1) Uzi, Dragonuv, RPG7
2) M79, Dragonuv, Flamer
3) Uzi, MGL140, Dart gun.
This is for serious gameplay- for just having fun, I use... The #2 is SUPER fun to use... however, #3 is most efficient imho- cuz you can go stealth, and because the MGL140 has a scope- and it has multiple shots...
