The game gets really slow during long battles.

I've been playing campaign and hotseat and I've noticed that during long battles (after 4-5 minutes or so) the game becomes extremely slow. It is still possible to finish the battle, but takes 10 seconds to skip a turn with a creature.
My system is: AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 1GB RAM, GeForce 6800, latest drivers.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I play for a few weeks and yesterday i had my first really long ,+5min,battle and yes i noticed the perfomance got really sluggish and slow.
