I just got this game for pc, signed on and only 2 games open online! I must have the newest patch to get online so that isnt a problem. Is there some sort of 3rd party dl or sumthing everyone is using so i cant see those games or maps i dont have? Is this just a bad time?
Please dont tell me this game is dead already

It is one of 2 tihngs. You are either not on when other servers are up or there are just that few number of players playing V2.

Hmm.... I'm not quite sure how to tell you to fix this, but I do know that your level shouldn't be a problem, and the time of day shouldn't matter much either. It varies from different times, as I play sometimes at 4 in the morning, or sometimes at 4 in the afternoon. There are usually about 15 servers at least during both those times, and I started playing multiplayer almost as soon as I started the game. In fact, I think that's what I started off doing, lol. Sorry I can't tell you how to fix this, but I do know that both of those factors are not it.
Good luck,

You're dead wrong you know... I still occsaionaly host a vegas 1 server, and within a few minutes it's filled up... In xfire at this very minute I can see 7 people playing vegas 1, but only 1 playing vegas 2.
And funnily enough I see on this very forum, many people complaining about patch 1.03 for vegas 2 doing all sorts of weird and unwonderful things... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

That is a very sad statement in its own right. 8 people combined playing 2 of UBI flagship titles. I realize that it only displays those using x-fire, but there are several older games that are fairing much better.

Just did an ingame check and there are:
59 servers in all adversarial modes (Most furnished by Trinity)
A total of 3 players !
56 servers empty!!
21 T-Hunt servers!
10 Story servers!
Your level should make no difference!
I often host for new players!
Make sure that your firewall or an antivirus program isn't blocking your game or connection.

okay wow, i know the problem now. I got this game with my MSI graphics card. I downloaded the newest patch from filefront just incase there was something wrong with the autoupdate and it turns out the version they sent me is the German version. Does this game only let you play with same region people so am i stuck looking for german servers?
And how do keys work with this game? are they tied to a account or a copy?

I too am playing with the copy of Vegas 2 that came with my MSI graphics card and I only seem to be able to find German servers (about 3 maximum) in versus mode. What the hell is going on? Is there some sort of fix that can enable me to find other language servers as well? The reason I got the MSI version of my graphics card (GTX 260) was because it came with Vegas 2 - I could have paid less for a non-MSI card but decided that I wanted Vegas 2. Any ideas?

UBISOFT HELP US!
The gaming community has been trying to get help from Ubiosft for over 3 1/2 months now with no success!!
I only solution I can think of would be to contact MSI and see if they might possibly have an English version they would be willing to ship!!
Or you could try Ubisoft's famous trouble ticket system and see what Jason has to say about it!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

this is so sad. vegas 1 and 2 are not that old and they only have what less then 50 or 60 server up?!?!?!
that is an outrage for that to be. but we are talking about nUBI soft. and guess what Raven Shield still has a few hundred server up, dedicated at that. with a few hundred players playing it at any given time!!
wow just think the only difference is that Raven shield had the map editor and a true SADs with it. and look it is still alive and kicking!
and Vegas 1 is dead maybe 5 servers up if that?!?! and now vegas 2 less then 60 server! wow i am glad i never got that game. most definitely waste of money.
not for nUBI soft but for us the consumer..

You have to remember, there was a time when Rainbow Six titles were developed for the PC. Both versions of Vegas are console ports. Hence limited commands, no editors, questionable netcode. RB6 is no longer a PC driven IP. It's a console IP that gets ported to PC.
I'm having fun with RB6 but I'm almost to the point where I will not buy/play a game that is released on multiple platforms. It used to be PC games were ported to consoles, now it's the other way around, and PC games suffer for it. Very few developers take advantage of the PC market, all they do is whine about piracy (seriously, you greedy bastards look at Sins of a Solar Empire, ZERO protection over a million sold), complain about how hard it is to program for a platform that isn't "standardized" and explain away their mistakes as being something we couldn't understand. Protip: The Game Market is not Hollywood, stop trying to throw money at sequels and hoping for a pay-off.

The only way i see to solve this is to download a copy online. We have the cd and the cd key so we legally own the game. Ubisoft and MSI dont care about our problem so we have to solve it ourselves. I dont think the cd keys are region lock so i recommend everyone with this germane version problem to download a US version and use the same UN/Password
