Now I have no intention of even trying to delve into the intracasies of Peep coloration be it yellow, pink, purple or green, nor patterns of classic Peep Chicks, Bunnies or whatever....Yet quite simply, how fresh must your Peep be to be good?
I'm of the opinion that a Peep, yellow, chick (the only true peep, the classic), must have the plastic opened for the chicks to breathe for at least 2 weeks before consumption.
Granted, a month to 6 months even better, yet who can possible plan ahead so far, simply knowing those Peeps are waiting, calling....Forcing you to slip one into your mouth to say...."Mmmmmmm, good peep, nice and chewy, stale....Blech, I've had enough till next year".

Peeps are a woman thing.
Just today, two women in the company office offered up some Peeps to me. My response was a nasty face with my tongue hangin' out.
My boss (male) was asked if he wanted Peeps right next to me. He had the same response that I did.
A customer (male) just happened to walk in our office while the Peeps were still out. He was offered some Peeps. He immediately refused and asked for Chocolate instead.

Is that the kind of thing you see in a "Peep show"?
If yes, then I prefer something between fresh and stale. You know, experienced but in good condition. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Seven day old left out in the open yellow peeps are the best - hands down...
And it's not just for "chicks" ....

My wife says they must have a crunchy crust to be edible.

Had to vote for stale Peeps.. Nothing beats opening the plastic on the container, letting them sit for 3 months, then mmm mmm mm they are good.
Got that from me mum.

I haven't had a Peep for ages but, thinking back to a voracious youth when I consumed everything and still remained skinny as a rail---I liked 'em fresh---but, I do believe my last Peeps gorge was when I discovered a couple packs in my mother's fridge---all probably dating back to when LBJ was Pres---and devoured them lustily.

i have heard several sources claim that "PEEPS" sell MORE in one season, than any and ALL of the big candy makers sell from all of thier lineup in one year.
and consitantly break the previous years record..every year.
