Hi everyone, well i got the "Intel macbook pro" and am hoping someone else here does too, cause everytime i start a new Game, for maybe 2 Secs, it freezes automatically, and of course I have to do a hard shutdown by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds, and then reboot... anyone else here have the same problem with there intel macs? by the way I'm using the ATI,RadeonX1600 with 128MB of VRAM, any info on how to get it to work or if UBISOFT is aware of the problem and getting it fixed?, Would be greatly appreciated... I'm just kinda P!**ed that I pay good money for a game that won't even play, even with the avalible Mac Intel patches.... *aarrrggg* but hope UBI is paying attention.. Thanks.. :-)

Hi! Yes we've been having the same freezing problems after using the patch to install Myst V on Intel iMacs.

Be sure to read the thread near this one I started about Freezes--it explains everything and a simple solution with game video settings.

I guess the installation patch is a bit buggy concerning the freezes, read the thread and it's all there.

Good luck!

The best (and, unfortunately, the only) solution at this point is to drop your graphics settings as low as you can, and to especially turn off any of the extras in the video settings panel, like shadows and dynamic reflections. Ubi blames ATI for the lock-ups on ATI-driven Macs, ATI blames Ubi, and Apple hasn't said boo, with the end result being that nobody's making a patch or a new driver to fix the problem. The Intel patch currently available is only to enable the installer to run, but the latest Java update in Mac OS X 10.4.6 fixes that problem as well.
