Is it that Sam is a convict for real as in being Convicted of his so called crimes.
OR SOMETHING BIGGER

Quoting from Gameinformer

"What if we took our character out of his element? Out of his zone of comfort? What would happen to him?" Fortier asks.
What they discovered was that Sam Fisher is a man of CON V ICTION. And it's this conviction not a renegade status that gives Splinter Cell its name. ". He's not a victim. He's not a fugitive He's not hiding"

Get the mag and read it for your self. Very interesting if only UBI can pull it off.

Yeah, I notice the V in Conviction to be as 5, the 5th splinter cell game. A cheesy rip-off of GTA4's IV...lol. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

We'll see on wednesday how it looks.

You're correct, it's no longer about him being a convict or getting convicted. They've left the storyline that was alluded to in DA and Essentials and gone a different direction.

It's very possible that they will get around to re-integrating the storyline, but at this point it's all about Sam's "convictions" or his "moral choice" to work outside the NSA/Third Echelon since he's decided they are corrupt/inept.

Sam through the conviction,
It's difficult to know what's "conviction",
really mean in this story of Sam Fisher, unless
we'll play this game.

WOW really old topic but what do we think the "new" Conviction title means?

conviction is defined as: an unshakable belief in something without need for proof or evidence

I think they are now going with the direction that Sam is convinced that Sarah's death wasn't an accident and he has to find her killer.

I think it would be a fitting end to this trainwreck of a game if at the end, we find out Sam has completely lost his mind, and all the 'threads' he was pulling at, all the 'leads' and 'evidence' he found, was never real. He killed a bunch of people that really had nothing to do with his daughter's death, and it WAS just an accident...

Something I thought was very clear in the old version. Sam is fighting against great forces of NSA while clearly being overwhelmed, with some big goal in mind. That's conviction. Gameplay needed little tweaking with adding the basic L/S etc.

The new Convictions seems way too messed up. Is NSA the enemy, is it any good? Sam gets taken to the U.S. and talks to Williams. Does he escape or what? Does Sam beat dozens of Splinter Cells in a second with his basic guns? How much of the story is about Sarah's killer?
The gameplay revolves around new trademark stuff. 2 things doesn't make a game.
