I liked like when you were in the yellow section you never knew if you were "Toatly lit up" or "only somewhat lit up". It kind of added a bit more suspense than knowing excatly how much in the light you were in. Anyone with me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Disagree strongly. If it's yellow they WILL see you. Sometimes even if theirs a wall between you. Plus now you cant tell when your leaving concealment because the shadowing/concealment is so arbritary.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

No. Taking out the light meter removed some of the suspense in the game. Before, you could wonder whether or not the guy coming towards you will see you or not. Now, with the light indicator, you already know whether or not the guy will see you.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

To answer your question, yes you are the only one. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I hate it, it is like you aren't seen one second, and if you move so much as an inch they can see you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I've got a better idea - PUT THE FREAKIN STEALTH BAR BACK IN. Maybe not the sound bar - made things too easy.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

^^^ My really bad Gamercard. Don't worry, it'll get better soon (I hope). As I only have 2 Xbox 360 games, I don't have much chance to get many achievements, and since I have a Silver Membership, no one can raise my rep. I'm SO ALONE!!!!

Yes.

Because you can be spotted even when the light is green (mostly in the JBA missions).

And then in a lot of levels, its nearly always yellow (but that's more of a game design issue than the meter itself).

I preferred the light meter, I even liked the sound meter and would hope for its return as I thought it was not used to its full potential in CT. Perhaps they can make them continually equipped gadgets that you can unlock early in the next game.

But also I wouldn???t mind if they try to explain the story behind the new light meter a little. Like it could be a two-way radio tuned to the enemies frequencies with some nice features like an automatic backlight, voice detection (instead of press to talk), and a built in alarm system. In the wrong hands (Sam???s) these features could be tuned to respectively make a improvised light meter (back light turns on or off), sound meter (screen changes to from green to yellow when local noise passes threshold level), and presence detention meter (red when an alarm is triggered by a enemies two-way radio). Its improvised nature could be explained be the fact Sam started DA in prison or in similar humble beginnings in the next game. Actually in the prison mission I read a Email That said a couple of walky-talkies had gone missing so maybe this was a story element that was watered over and otherwise forgotten about like so many others in this game (it would make sense to if wasn???t for the darn Geothermal plant at the beginning).

I actually prefer it to the one style. But they need to get rid of the icon on-screen. I mean they already have two meters on Sam and one on his gun. It also adds more realism to the game.

By doing it this way they've actually made the gameplay harder, which is what this series needs.
But I also found hard to be pretty easy myself. I just wish they'd made the game alot harder then it is now. Plus added around three more sp missions, then I'd be happy with it.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

To reiterate : it is NOT a light meter. Nor an indicator of being-in-line-of-sight.

It's basically an indicator which gives the player a global indication of the situation :

- green = Sam's not noticed, there are no problems
- yellow = Sam is noticed and he raised suspicion
- red = Sam is in TROUBLE

Just like in reallife this indicator doesn't give the player a clearcut answer like the lightmeter gameplay did.

In this game where the gameplay revolves around trust and not raising suspicion it's good to see that things are arbitrary ; estimating a situation depends alot more on more and different factors.

I slam the reviewers who say this gameplay design is Chaos Theory 1.01 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to hazard a guess that you haven't played the singleplayer campaign much, if any at all. I can tell your confusion though, because something similar to what you explained was told to us by a dev. in one of the preview videos.

He said something near to your explanation, but it was never implemented. Instead, they made it a straight out "Now I see you, now I don't." meter. You can see this when you play the game. While you are walking through shadows, it is green. While you are moving through washed-out light, or any kind of light, it is yellow. It is yellow EVEN IF they are not searching for you.

It turns RED when you have been identified as an intruder, and you will be hunted down and shot.

But...it will not turn yellow to tell you if an enemy is searching for you. You have the radar for that. On the radar, all enemies are yellow dots. When they grow suspicious (to the point of searching for you), their dot will turn red. I have no idea how the sattelite uplink dudes can tell if someone is searching for you or not, but they are helpful nonetheless.

Once again, they fail to implement something that they said would happen...

Remember back in Chaos Theory pre-release? They said that guards would check their fellow gaurds' radio, if there was silence, they would set up a search amongst other guards, altering their paths to check the silent area. This was obviously never implemented, but you can still pick up fragments of this attempt in-game. Have you ever gone up to a KO'd guard and heard a voice coming from his radio? They are like "Are you there? Hey, are you alright?!"<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The new meter in Double Agent is the worst **** and most noobish system ever. Doesnt work what so ever. That old one was way better also the sound meter was nice.

It's not confusion ; i guess i just missed some of the details you pointed out. I'm now at the Rubtev mission and imo, the meter system resembles Hitman Bloodmoney's suspicion meter moreso, than it does SC's classic lightmeter. It doesn't really bother me though.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I feel the new light system is more intrusive than the old system. He has that rediculous light on his back even while he's in Prison. They never explain how and why he has that on and no one else apparently notices. It's dumb. They should have stuck with the old system; if ain't broke don't fix it.
