As Neko has already noted, Haze doesn't have an extensive amount of destructible objects, such as Crysis, but it does have some =)

Dare I say it? Cough*explo*Cough*ding*ha-ck*barrels-achoo! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That's a great shot though - very impressive.

I'm sure there is at least one exploding barrel there, but check out that destroyed fence (oddly in the middle of nowhere indoors...) as well as the other piece of twisted metal. Both have taken damage of a sort, which likely came from yon barrel, but in TS games, such objects never would have been affected by such a blast. I'm guessing that Haze makes heavier use of cover, so the ability to destroy it- like that fence (that fence is one of the reasons for my aforementioned assertion)- denies the enemy an advantage.

It doesn't mean those objects weren't already placed there and already damaged before you arrive at the spot though. Hopefully you are correct, but I'm looking at it as an added bonus - many games still seem to be struggling with this kind of thing, so I'm not expecting it beyond some token uses. Fingers crossed though.

Check out that shot though - WOW. PC shot or not, higher-res or not, the textures on the suit and the general quality is fantastic in my book. Great explosion too. The brickwork textures on the bridge in the triple shot (other thread) is also impressive.

Aye, the textures are excellent. The AA isn't doing too well though- I don't know if that's a current side effect of the Nectar though, but if you look at the far rail- specifically the left side of it- you'll see it is somewhat jaggy. Additionally, the fence to the left- especially at the further, rightmost end- isn't rendered too well. I'm not 100% sure if that's an LoD (level of detail- basically a system which renders objects at varying degrees of quality based upon their distance; the thought is that you can't see as much detail on something that is far away anyway, and therefore you do not need to spend the graphical processing power to render details you cannot see) or an AA problem, but usually it's an AA issue. Thus, I would likely say this is a PS3 shot (it was in the PS3 section of IGN, but that's not always a great indicator), but it also could have been taken from a lower-level graphics card, such as the ATi 1950XTX or even possibly the HD 2900XT (which can't really match the 8800GTS- especially not the 8800GTX/Ultra- as far as AA quality goes; meh, the kicker with that is the 8800GTS is cheaper, and you can even pick-up a superclocked variant of the 8800GTS which is vastly superior to the HD 2900XT for less than a regular HD 2900XT).

Also, those pieces could have been placed there previously, though it would be odd for them to be in their current states initially, but if you look closely, you can see at least two relatively large chunks of metal flying away from the explosion, and they don't seem to be from any sort of barrel I'm familiar with.

I think those pieces are really from barrels. It has the same light red color as the barrels from the screenshots and it has the rounded basis.

i hope its really destructible like in hot fuzz when angel shoots the animal trap thing and it falls on the guys face.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif anyway i dont want it be unrealisticly destructible like you shoot a wall with a hand gun once and the whole thing falls down like crazy..... unless the walls unstable.... Ah the possibilities http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
