I am playing w/the same party that they use in the book (b/c im reading the book too currently) so I didnt take skylar. My party is a Fighter, Pally, Rogue, & 2 Sorcs. They are all level 4-5 and in Deep Halls right now. Should I consider multiclasing someone to a cleric or will I get an option to pick one up reasonably soon? I kinda thought you'd get a chance to pick one up sooner than this and really am missing the silence spell and healing and also just being able to use the cleric wands I get.
If I should multi can someone advise what the best class combo is? I dont really wanna mess with my fighter or pally b/c they are my main damage force.
help please!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

No need to cry. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
If you're going to multi someone, use the paladin. Not only does turning stack (it shouldn't) but they likely already have the stats for it.
But shortly (after the dungeons) you'll be able to add a powerful fighter/cleric to your party. Another good class combo (too late for you in this game) is barbarian/cleric.

Well you will get Faeril about 2/3s of the way through the game so you need one in the interim.
A single class cleric was very helpful to make it through the game as there are many undead and turning works exceedingly well at the very elast to immeasurably shorten the time such battles take as zombies shamble towards you one by one.
You will undoubtably need to resurrect people with the wands and scrolls which may not work well unelss you are a ceratin higher level of cleric. Just taking one or two won't get the job done. Reading a ressurection scroll with 4 levels of cleric may see you dead from magical backlash instead of aiding your party member.

I also don't have a cleric in my troop. Should I seriously consider multi-cl***ing one of my characters?
I'm guessing that my barbarian would be the best to multi-cl*** with (my 3 other Characetrs are Rogue, Fighter, Sorcerer).
My 4 characters are currently all single cl*** Level 2

Remember multi-cl***ing to cleric is not such a bad thing for a paladin or a warrior from a fighting perspective. Clerics are just a little short of attack bonuses compared to paladins/warriors and only a little short on HPs. The benefit for turning undead far outweighs a few HP, and attack bonuses. Plus you get better will saving throws than warriors. Believe me, you'll need this. The cleric spells are also very powerful at high levels (searing light, harm, destruction, fire storm, flame strike). Except for confusion, the divine spells are more powerful than the arcane sorcerer spells. If you're human or half-elf there's no XP penalty for multi-cl***ing to 2 cl***es.
Make sure your multi-cl*** cleric has decent charisma for turning and high enough wisdom to get the level of divine spells you want.
I wouldn't wait (or use Faeril). Why? as said by Rozand you get her relatively late. Second she will eat up the XP that should go to your multi-cl*** cleric and other characters. Have the smallest party size possible for maximum strength in the long run.
I made it to the end with a 16/14 Cleric/Paladin half-elf and 16/15 Sorcerer/Thief half-elf. Final boss battle was simple. Did it the first time with hundreds of HPs to spare. They blew everything away once they got up to 6th level or so. I only used the NPCs as pack mules.

thanks for all the tips guys. I just beat the game. wow was it ever long!! longest forgotten realms rpg game ever i think. i ended up waiting on farial instead of starting over. Worked ok but there were a few annoying times a cleric would have been great http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
