Can anybody explain why I can download skins from some sites eg Canon, Cpt Farrell, Flying Legends & not from Hammards new site or a German Sturmovik de site, does a countries location have anything to do with it?

Depends on if the skin has been uploaded, I tried some of the Tempest ones, but it appears they were teasers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I have had trouble with only one site, Flying Legends. What's odd is I can d/l from my computer at work. Same browser (IE6) but different OS. Mine/XP Pro, work/Win2000. It must be some setting in the browser? any ideas where I could start looking?
Other programs on my system: Zone Alarm/Spybot Search & Destroy/AdAware SE/Spy Sweeper/AVG 6.0 anti-virus.

Any help appreciated and maybe it will help dasriech as well.

Zone alarm and some pop up blockers are known to conflict with FL, don't know why but Zone Alarm does, might want to check to be certain that ZA has permission, also set your pop up blocker (if using one) to all ow FL. These are the main cause of this.
Also when you download, "LEFT" click the download button, not "right" click.
Also Download accelerators will not work.
Soon there will be a new download/upload section implemented so any of these small issues should be resolved.

you might try going to internet options (found in the tool menu,then internet, and then security. there is also a pop up bloker in IE too..... If all else fails try the Trouble shooter, its helped me countless times. Like when I had my phoneline jacked into the network card and not the modem http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif.

WarWolfe;

Thanks for the tips but they didn't work. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I don't use a download accellerator as I have a very fast broadband connection. I even went as far as to turn ALL my safetys OFF! (Yes, for brief moments in time I do like to live dangerously) I'd left click a d/l link at FL and get an empty page. I disabled the IE popup blocker too. Also I can't set my security settings below medium. Everytime I try to set it to "Low" it reverts back to "Medium". At work the Company has installed WebSense on all the computers. Although it let's me download from FL it won't let me check the NASCAR page as it's "access denied. Catagory Sports" or look at the SI swimsuit edition, "access denied. Catagory Adult". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I guess I'll move this over to Community Help and see if the brains over there have any ideas. Thanks for trying though m8. I appreciate it.

dasriech, maybe you should try over there too.

Reply to what happens when I try to download from your site.

I connect to your site with no problem, select the desired skin & commence the download, down load gets to about 50% & then download freezes, sometime a message will come up Microsoft internet explorer cant download from specified site (pigyn I think) & then resets the server, which server I dont know

I also have Zone Alarm, Spybot & Ad Aware on my XP system and have no problems downloading from Flying Legends or any other sites. I think the main difference in our systems is the Internet browser. I use Mozilla Firefox. I won't go into the many differences I've noticed, but suffice to say I believe it is a superior product compared to IE. http://www.gunpix.com/gallery/Miscellaneous_and_Oddities/2twocents.gif
