Similarly I'm hesitant if JVC's alter-ego Crag Hack should be in the game.

I wouldn't mind if some heroes made a comeback, but with the NWC era being over I think it's time to bury the heroes that are most intimately connected to NWC.

Nah. They aren't JVC or Christian Vanhover alter egos anymore. They've gone beyond that, they are characters we know and love. They've had important roles in M&M and HOMM, in this case Crag and Christian both had their own campaign in H3 expansions, and Crag well, he's been there since the beggining.

I think John and Christian would be quite proud that their heroes have their own identity and that there's still something from them in the game. And we fans would be equally happy, so what's the problem?.

Well I would like to see those heroes that appeared in all Heroes games from 1 to 4 to appear back in Heroes 5. Some of those mentioned already but there are some I couldn't remember.

As for Roland and Catherine, I don't know... maybe it is time for them to not appear anymore. Not even their son, Nicolai. The Ironfist reign is over. So does Roland's brother.

I understand that people gotted to like certain heroes but it's time to move on.
It's good if a few come back or at the highest several but you seem to want half the Heroes III heroes back.

Think about when Heroes III was about to come out. You had your favorite heroes from Heroes II that you couldn't wait to see and was probably pretty disappointed to see that most were gone (I liked a Knight with that brave face). But in Heroes III you found new heroes to like! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And it will be the same in Heroes V! You'll get to like lots of new heroes that you'll want to see in Heroes VI.

Personally there is only one character I really want to come back. Archibald Ironfist! I also don't think that Ubi dares to ignore the Ironfists. They - if anything - are the backbone of every Heroes game. I got a hard time imagining a Heroes game without them!

Obviously, Ubi's not going to put them all in (unless they have a lack of creativity, which seems veeeery unlikely). Hope such a picture-intensive post does not cause problems to anyone. However, I wanted to post H2 portraits in order to show, also, how rich in details they were (most of them, at least): backgrounds, clothing elements and jewelry, expression... That added a lot to heroes personality, even more, I would say, than bios and specialities. I would like to see this great work in portraiting the heroes back in Heroes V.

And Crag Hack, Sandro, Gem and the other oldies need to make a return, even if it's only a mention during a campaign rather than a physical appearance/manifestation.

People who should be in the game:

Xanthor. If the Ironfists aren't going to be around, at least the family's something or other old guy should still be around. He must be awesome if he's old.

Alamar. Super old powerful evil guy from the succession wars that has disappeared. That makes him awesome.

Agar. An old evil guy who created minotaurs. What is there that isn't awesome about that? That's right, nothing.

Falagar. Old dude that was one of the evilest of evils that turned sides to become non-evil. Traitors are awesome.

Lord Haart. A hero of his time. Served the side of good faithfully until he went crazy and killed King Gryphonheart. Becomes undead evil guy. That is really awesome.

Any or all of these people may actually already be dead. I don't know, but it's not really relevant. Actually it'd be nice to see Lord Kilburn, but I don't really like the idea of an undead version of him.

Two people that should definatley be in the game? Whoever these two are.

Hmm...I've only seen this character mentioned once, but, to my knowledge, he is the oldest and most important character in the series.

In the first Heroes he was the Lord of all the Warlock towns and was teh most powerful King in the land of Heroes until Ironfist overthrew him.

He took a backseat in Heroes 2 and Heroes 3, but that didnt matter. He was still there and looked old as dirt in Heroes, btw.

I havent played Heroes 4 in a while, but I would like to think that he was still there.

I speak of course of Alamar.

One of my favourites is Solmyr (H3 - SoD) (I always wanted to know more about him). The fact that he is immortal but also a slave to another immortal (Gavin Magnus - ruller of Bracada Highlands) gives him a nice twist.

Crag Hack (H3 SOD) - he's a brute! He deffinetly has to be in Heroes 5.
Another one I like because of the story is Jeddite.

Actually...Yog wasn't in them all. He wasn't in H2. The only ones to run the table were Crag "THE" Hack, Lord Haart, Luna, Gem and Sandro. So I would definitely want those 5 back for certain.

I'm pretty sure Yog was in Heroes 2... if only because it was first Heroes game I played, and the only Heroes game until I got Heroes 3, and when I saw him in Heroes 3 I recognized him and thought it was cool that he was in both.

As for me, I'd like to just see the heroes who have been in multiple Heroes games so far, and those important to the story.

I would like to see Gelu in the new game or at least his students - the Sharpshooters. And if he appears in the new game with the new world, it may be explayned properly - so much magic concetrated around him will certainly cause something to hapen to him. And for sure he is not dead - he wielded the Armagedons Blade, that makes him immune to armagedons, and I think that is just what hapened when the blades crashed.

Well, Crag Hack is also cool, and Solmyr has good background.
As for Gelu, well, if you saw Galdoth Half-Dead, he used some enchants at the last second to survive and go to the new word (well, almost survive, at least) the armageddon blade could have did something (besides bringing it's name to the planet...) and Gelu isn't a hopeless, at least has the chance of him becoming a ghost (he has more than reason to come back, and a ghost doesnt need it's body to still exist).
Anyway, the whole new world they talk about is the new world from H4 after the reckoning. This means only that they will give a more solid impression of this being a new world (can't be sure, but far from the truth I can't be).

ANYWAYS... Sandro will be here, don't matter how much time has passed (he's a lich, how much time can be a issue for him?), so, he will be here again for his urge to gain more power. And I wouldn't complain if it was with those two really useful artificats he had at H3: SoD (I can dream, can't I?)

Well they are trying to sell a new game in a recognised series as a sequel, so they have to give some serious thought to the favourite heroes from the previous games returning. Just because not all heroes could (and should) be in H5, at the very least Sandro, Crag Hack and certain other heroes that are popular enough should have found *some* way to get to the world of H5. Otherwise I don't think they can seriously connect to the previous HOMMs in a way that the fans will be mostly happy with.

Why not do a properly balanced poll for each of the new towns, of what previous heroes absolutely must be in H5? Ones that fans think should be part of the new adventure (even if simply as spectators from the old order to the new =). the 4 level creatures were always the main ary. its a long time before you make those black nights. When with bron, you dont have trouble wiyh lightning bolts and you can always throw basilisks in battle!
