When I try to load up the FB, the start screen comes on then after a brief pause....nothing. Just the desk top looking at me like I'm some dufus...which most certainly I am. So I try to uninstall FB from Windows (Add or Remove Programs) and I get this message..."ERROR applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valad." So I try to uninstall from the disk. Guess what? Same Error message ... transform paths yada yada yada. So I get the bright idea that I'll use Start\Run\D:\setup.exe. Well that didn't work either. So here it is 5 days later after 8 defrags, 2 Windows reinstalls and about 30 hours of acute anxiety and I'm still at square one. Can't play nor uninstall FB. Needless to say I've seen my doctor and he's prescribed moderatly strong medication for my withdrawl symptoms. But I would like to get this wonderful game back up and running and I'm having just the ****ens of a time getting it to do so. Any ideas short of a major overhaul, or a best case senerio of buying me a new computer?

Are you saying you did a full format, and it didn't fix it? Or you did a windows install over the top. Which never works.

Assuming FB is your only ubisoft program and at default install location:

Delete UbiSoft folder here: C:\Program Files
and here: C:\WINDOWS

Delete all desktop shortcuts

empty temp file here using run command

%temp%

and here

%systemroot%\temp

using regedit delete this string

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles

Reboot.

That should remove all traces of FB from your box.
