EBgames.com says that the release date is Feb 7 2005. They knew this date way before gamespot. When I purchase 3 SHIII sims Feb 7 2005 it will be at a place where I know they will have it the day any game/sim says they will shelf it and that place is Electronics Botique. (EBgames.com) Dont but it from EBgames online unless you want to be taxed since Electronics Botique is in nearly every state/country.

Hi

I tried myself and I took the risk to dl the required prog (khost.exe and co. )
I made a search on the net, and it is reported as a trojan ! Crazy thing that a big website proposed to their users such a prog to dl videos, patches...etc.

IMHO Gamespot shouldnt show the SHIII game/sim in low rez but only high rez. Just cheapens the video quality and possibly a novice customer would think SHIII images are bad.

its probably just a bandwidth issue, they have sooo many movies of hundreds of games ready to dl
even with such a big and well established site there would be limits

Question is: How did they get a copy of SHIII. What is Gamespot doing? BETA testing? If they dont have SHIII and didnt make the video then did the dev team give the video to Gamespot? hummm. Everything just raises more questions. I'm hoping that the Dev team is the only ones with SHIII and no one has it before anyone. Reason for my statement is that I dont want anyone making videos of low quality which possibly to a novice gamer may think SHIII has graphics that are substandard than what is actually supposed to be seen. I think the Silent-hunteriii website should be the only portal for making videos of SHIII at the moment before SHIII's release. Reason I care so much is that not only I want the maximum amount of people to buy SHIII but also I want to have DC2 players play against me and the entire wolf pack. The dev team said if SHIII is a hit then there will be a DC2. Makes sense because if only 10k people bought SHIII there would be no way I would make a DC2. Best to have many many people, and TELL everyone!, know about SHIII as possible. Already I got some of my Co-workers at work prepairing new custom PC upgrades. Its official, so Ubisoft must have sent it out to all concerned, and Ubirazz has been MIA for most of the week, wednesdays question is still up the top of the forum lol
And the content of the vid is not low quality, just the res its in, its better than the first official trailer IMO

once Ubirazz returns to his backlog of emails and stuff to upload i'm sure it'll be on the main site

I wonder why nobody wants to see a group of people playing SH3 in their home in awful quality.

I downloaded it hoping that it was another SH3 preview. Well, at least it wasn't a trojan.

I used 56k to download. The file was an mpg file and it forced me to download the 13 meg. It was poor quality but I understand SHIII's graphics are better fortunatly. Just concerned for people new to SHIII.

Anyways while viewing the newly downloaded video I see they have the propellers turing in the currect direction for the carrier at least. Last video I saw they had the DD escort moving forward and the propellers turning in the worng direction for how the ship was moving. Yes,its sailors in the back of the destroyer!on the aft(popdeck)deck,i think is the men who handels the can launch,superb now its even more imersive.

Some things we can learn from the vid.

1) There are animated sailors on at least the decks of destroyers! This bodes well for modding in survivors and the like.

2) When the torpedo hits the transport, the camera zooms very briefly close to the ship. You can see liferafts hanging off the side!

3) Attention to detail in harbours - you can see a submarine being built.

4) In that bit, there's time compression and you can see the dynamic weather and lighting working very well. What's more, the sub drifts a little during that time, (must be a few hours) which is interesting, suggests a somewhat dynamic sailing model.

5) Overall looking very nice!
