I have been thinking what is the first thing i'm going to do when I get SH3. I think testing the crush depth of the sub will be a good one! Is it out in the UK first?

If Starforce won`t have an issue with my DVD drive that is.

Im going to read the instructions while i install, then do the tutorials. Then straight into my first patrol. No trying to shoot my own ships, no ramming the wall, no sinking the boat on purpose.

This should have the effect as though i am a new captain on his first combat patrol. (aces of the deep is like my schooling at uboat school http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

For me there is much more fun of discovering them within the game, i want to be shocked by the crush depth when i am being attacked, not go out and just crush the boat. But each to his own i suppose http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Its like Call of duty, i didnt play multiplayer untill i had finished it, because i wanted to experience the maps and guns and units as a suprise, not learn about them all before and ruin the fun.

check out my lighting options.
white and red im sure are in.

but what about blue? how about off, can we turn the lights off? not flicker but stay off? probably not.

im sures its not in the game but having the abilty to change lights in different rooms at different times would be cool.

would be cool to just have a single red light bulb burning during a dredded depth charge attack instead of ten bulbs IMHO in the AQAPM
(As Quiet At Possible Mode).

can that option be modded in?

Install, set everything on highest possible realism level http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif Then tutorials/u-boat academy. (read the manual during all this) Then start the campaign and play all day/night/morning until I fall asleep. And whenever I die, and I'm sure I'll die atleast once the first night, I will start over with a new campaign.

Likely put it on my shelf until I find some way of preventing starforce from installing it's **** onto my computer.
The more I find out about it, the more I wish I did not pre order this game.

Hola,

I'll be playing Silent Hunter II with the rest of the WPL's 7th Flotilla "Wegener".

The Majority of members have canceled orders for SHIII.

Read this review from Broadband Reports on Starforce:

I've never had a problem with StarForce.

My DVD-RW and my burning software still run great, as do all my games.

In addition, my computer still runs, as does my internet, flawlessly.

Anyways, let's not turn this into some lame *** StarForce debate.

I'm going to Japan the very next day, so I'll leave the game in its box and will not think about it until returning to Spain. Anyway, I wonder about hiring a geisha to entertain me... will charge arround 600 euros/550 $... almost as much as cost the flight!

But would be nice to be entertained just as a fortunate monsun captain could be! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That's why we don't have localized version for spain.

Anywhay, the first thig I will do is reading the manual, and forgot ambout playing until I understand it.

Note: the manual will be read by me AFTER taking it out from the case. It seems that this has to be clarified. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I will first have to walk back from the residential services centre (where any mail bigger than a letter gets delivered) and remove the game.net packaging...

First thing i will do is test everything. I will set myself up in a Type IX/D2 in the early time period so it doesnt end up with guns, and basically test out the game's working by sinking it then sailing to Lorient and trying to get into a sub pen, probaly testing the damage model on the sub http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Very simple ...

I'll open the DVD box singing the Das Boot theme song ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Most seriously, I'll install the game and go through the Training academy, I love this kind of thing in sims.

Get onto single mission, I dunno maybe..small convoy, no escort, daytime, nice weather type IXC/40. 100% realism except dud torpedoes.

Then I will go give hell to merchant convoy and see how it all runs and works.

I'm U-boat conscious, I will endeavour NOT to lose my boat, even when juss playing around. I HATE losing a sub in SH just as I HATE losing at chess, to me its one and the same.

Last time I lost a sub after 22 patrols at 87% realism in SH2 I was REALLY pi**ed off.

Getting emersed, involved and integrated into my monitor and the game it will be showing is all part of the fun to me, the more I take it serious the more exileration I can get.

Especially now, it will be MAGNIFIED becuase we will be getting to KNOW our crew almost on a one to one basis...they will be our virtual WWII sub family.

SH3 go...go..gooooooooooo yehaww cant wait !
