The Uplay Server Is Not Available...

I keep getting this message no matter how many times I try to log in – and I know that the server isn’t really unavailable because everybody else can use it. I know that I’m online, as the units I unlocked through playing the game have been deposited into my account, but I can’t spend them because each time I try to access the menu, I get that message: the uplay server is not available.

Are there any solutions to this? I wish there were a way that you could spend the points online and then download it to your console once you start the game, sort of like what Microsoft does. As it stands, I'll never be able to get any of the extra stuff in Assassin's Creed II because I can't access the menu...

I'm in the same boat.
I was able to log in once earlier though, for about a minute, now I can't again.
I couldn't at all yesterday.

This is strange since I can log in on the website just fine.

This has been a problem for Ubisoft for a long time now, not with just Uplay. For each of their games they have unlocks you get by signing into Ubi from the game, none of them ever work. It's getting quite old, you'd think they'd fix the problem after 2+ years.

I've got this problem as well. I could log in fine the first day, before I had enough points to get anything. Now that I do, the server always tells me it's unavailable.

It's been a couple of days now and I'm still getting this error each time. I have 120 Units and I can't even spend them!

Has Ubisoft even acknowledged this problem? Do they have any suggestions as to how to get it fixed? I didn't see anything in the FAQ.

Let me put it this way; as I said above, Ubi has been doing these "Exclusive" content things for years, Uplay is just the new interface.
There are still people, like myself, that can not get their stuff for Far Cry 2 or Naruto 2, both over a year old. Check either forum and you'll see people still posting to this day about the servers not letting them connect or just plain not allowing them to get their content.
Ubi has never, to my knowledge, acknowledged the problem.
Not only this, but there's DLC for the first Naruto game from Ubi, over 2 years old now, that's been broken from day 1 and Ubi never fixed it, still, leaving unattainable achievements in the game. They also never acknowledged this problem.

I bought AC2 new because I loved the first one. I spent 6+ months praying it would not have major problems. So far, I'm in sequence 9, I have not seen any major problems. Deffinitly problems with symbols on the mini map and such, but all minor problems.
I'm waiting for 1 of the feathers to be glitched on me, like Prince of Persia... 1/1001 orbs glitched on me, forcing me to replay the entire game.

Moral of the story: Don't buy Ubisoft games new. If you really want an Ubi game, wait and get it used so they get no money, because they obviously care very little about quality and even less about support.
Heck, when Far Cry 2 released (the game is still very broken) they took down their customer support email so we could not email them about problems. I'm not sure if they ever put it back up.

I understand Uplay is a beta and betas have problems sometimes.

The real problem here though is, what about all the other games that have exclusive content for connecting to Ubisoft's servers that came out before Uplay? Why do all of them still have problems after 2 years in some cases?

The Uplay service is fine, the only problem with it is the same problem Ubi has ignored for years, their servers.

And... it's still not working. It's been months since I purchased this game and I'm starting to find this a bit ridiculous. Has there been any official word, yet?
