I am a huge fan of the series, and I think it would be a good idea to brainstorm some ideas for fun.
Now I know that AoE:3 TWC was recently released, but that was an expansion pack. I want the following in the next full AoE game:
Start the campaigns from World War I, and end at the Second Gulf War. Have the ability to play on either sides and divide up campiagns into major battles, (Somme, Verdun, Gallipoli, etc for World War I). Then, follow up with World War Two, then Vietnam, and then the Second Gulf War (Iraq)
Then, have some unlockable campaigns for doing well in the given campaigns. How about Korea and the First Gulf War?
They should introduce tanks, planes, modern weapons, nucelar capabilities, etc.
I'll post more later. Thoughts? Ideas?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Age of Empires IV will most likely be set across the 20th century, possibly into the 21st century. Age of Empires V appears to be set at some point in the future. Although it has been said by ES employees such as Sandy Petersen that this picture does not mean anything as the actual themes of IV and V have not been decided.
It is now believed that Age of Empires V might be Ensemble Studio's new project Halo Wars, being made in conjunction with Bungie Studios. This new RTS set in the Halo universe matches the description of a far-future strategy game, and the marines and ODSTs from that universe look similar to the soldier design in the Age of Empires artbook. It remains to be seen whether Halo Wars will be seen as Age of Empires V.
straight from wikipeida.
I dont think they should go into our time yet. because then it is more c&c red alert. I would prefer they enter world war i at the most.

I love them all too but part III uses too much of my PC, so I sold it on Ebay.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

More ideas:
Have the maps HUGE. In AoE:III it was far too easy to simply pwn anyone in my way when I swarmed across the map.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Wouldn't letting AOE take place in present day be a bit dumb? I mean, it's called Age of Empires after all. In the previous century there weren't much empires left.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
