New Rig +Black death stats

Hey all, as some of ye may recall, I've been putting a new rig together with PC Specialist, here in the UK. To cut a long story short, finance company weren't interested in my business (usual short-term contracts bulls**t) & had to scrape the lot together to pay in full.

Now, altough I'd ordered the 512MB 7950GT, due to some other problems, they upgraded me to another card.

The machine is being assembled as we speak & I hope to get it by the end of the week. Broadband has been ordered & I should be in the skies with all & sundry by March.

I know it's been mnetioned before, but this company have been excellent & I can't recommend them enough.

Regarding the BD stats, is there a sticky anywhere that folk can post to? This may be a good idea for all those folk (myself included from last year) who are scoping components to see a range of systems with a benchmark we can all identify with.

So here's the rig:
AMD ATHLON™ 64 X2 5200+ (2.6GHz) 2 x 1MB L2 Cache (Socket AM2)
2048 MB CORSAIR DDR2 667MHz (2x1GB)
ASUS® M2N4-SLI: DUAL DDR2, S-ATA II, 2 x PCI-Ex, 2 x PCI
74GB WD RAPTOR SATA 16MB CACHE (10000rpm)
160GB SERIAL ATA II HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7200rpm)
320MB GEFORCE 8800GTS PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT
Sound Blaster® Audigy® SE

Software-wise have gone for XP Pro & OpenOffice. Suffice to say that 1946 will be the first new program I load onto it & I can't tell ye how much I'm looking forward to getting back into my 190.

And a Tempest, not to mention all the Spits..P38!

Hi Rwulf,

I don't have any specific answers to your question but I just wanted to add to your post that I too would like to see a sticky of BD stats, if it doesn't exist (I haven't seen one).

It would be important to post other data than just the BD stats, such as screen resolution, AA, AF, Game Video modes, etc, as depending on those settings the fps will change on the same hardware.

You will probably be pretty happy with your 8800GTS over the 7950GT. Nothing wrong with the 7950, but the 8800 is definately a step up.

I have the 8800GTX and it has been the best video card for me yet.

Euro Snoopy started this thread to get ideas for exactly what you are requesting. I personally like Dieg777 idea in the post he made. Kinda gives an overall idea of what to expect with different rigs at certain setting levels with the last setting level being what one prefers to run as far as settings go. I believe when a decision is made that the thread or sticky will be hosted at Snoops Airwarfare site\forum(s). Hopefully we will keep a sticky at the top of this forum to connect directly to that thread when he actually cranks it up. As for now, there isn't any one particular place to post results of the BD track benchies.
