Installshield couldn't open Data1.cab

After I chose the paths and everything Installshield brings the error message that it couldn't find D:\Data1.cab, but it's there! I can copy and extract this file manually, so it's rather not the fault of the DVD-reader. When I abort the installation, it brings the "critical error 1603".

What could all that mean? Any help as much appreciated as some french girls after 6 months on sea!

You should get SP2 installed.

You need the latest drivers from Nvidia.com incase you dont.

Need latest direct X.

All else looks ok but your DVD im not familiar with. Is it 8X or better?

During install I suggest to turn off your power save for windows and also disable screensavers.

Hi,

I had a similar problem but with data11.cab. What worked for me was disabling my virus scanner (AVG) and also updating the flash inside my DVD-ROM. I'm not sure which one of these solved it.

Thank you very much for your answers! I still don't know what exactly where the reasons for my problem, could be anything from the DVD drive (x16) to my Windows being messed up.

But fortunately I have found a workaround, I just copied all the files from the DVD to my harddrive and run setup.exe from there, it worked! Man was I happy! So if anybody has the same problem, that's a solution!
