Dans un premier temps, bien le bonjour Fabrice, j'espère que tu te portes bien.

I'd like to ask you one question, no not about the game, but about the Communication from Ubi/Nival with the Fan Base.

The Ubi M&M Forum was created for a communication purpose, and just as well a marketing one, but let's focus our discussion on the communication/exchange aspects.

At first, we can expect the 'General Board' to be a bit cluttered, uncertain, and not really behaving as the best vehicule for fans to generate the proper suggestions/questions to the design team.

That is why, I believe, this special Heroes Den was created, to bounce back ideas with more 'established' fans in a more liberal fashion. And eventally kick-start the 'General Forum' to enlarge its fan base with a greater number of 'established' fans.

Knowing that this is still early to harass you in such fashion, I am wondering how you intend to 'use' us to help you guys out. Are we just to hang around for some more time until the game is more under process or do you intend to ask us specific questions about a game system for us to hash along?

I mean, we can really go wild and discuss topics ad nauseum that are not yet on the schedule to be developped, while on the other hand, you are toying with some concepts that must meet a tight deadline.

Or should we just forget about here and go at Celestial Heaven and join the ranks of the crowd there?

That was more than one question, wasn't it? Well Kingo ain't known for conciseness.

Hi http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Not much time today, but I thought I should answer you.

The Den is meant to regroup only a few long-time fans and community leaders. This place will be much more listened to than other forums - thanks to fewer people, and I hope more qualitative feedback http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We will of course come to you with questions, when we can disclose them, and ask your opinion. In return you will get info before anyone else, just like the Q&A yesterday.

People in the Den will also have a very special treatment in the coming operations - especially the beta test. I dont want to reveal too much at this stage, but this will be important.

I also see the Den as a way to communicate more easily with all communities. When an announcement has to be done, or something to be said, we will come here and the news will spread from here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif We are still checking that everyone has been contacted and is accounted for at this stage http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Though, it's not completely connected to original topic, but it is still a question.

quote:
<...>Now, we're not here to make jokes only, but to unveil the next instalment of Heroes to you, the most die-hard fans. The question was about the number of towns in the game. There will be six towns. You will come to discover them gradually in the coming weeks ! One of them is a completely new addition to the set of factions, while others... may be different... or not <...>

When we will start discovering them ? Will you announce them in the Den and then in the public forum ? Will we be able to publish information to our forums/sites before announcing them in the public forum ?

Thank you

Fabrice, merci beaucoup.

I really appreciate the time you took to stop by. And I'm a little ashame to have cornered you that way. But I felt it important to reassure the crowd here that they were indeed privileged individuals and that their role is at the same time one of expert-critique just as well an apostle for the game outside the forum.

People here are well behaved and will await your OK before leaking out anything to the outside world. Like you did today, we stayed put until it was officially announced at CH. Worked fine.

Now tell us, what would you like us to discuss these days? Throw us the topic, and we'll hash it to death. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Seeing, that my last questions didn't get an answer I will post a new one and will hope the old ones will also be answered.

Fabrice, Are the news which appeared in ToTheGame and that other german journal are just speculations or all things they wrote are true ? If yes, is there a possiblity that they might change in time ?

I'm not Fabrice, but here is my take on it...

1. This information (TTG/Gamestar) may very well be on the verge of being 'factual' enough as to not requiring any intervention from Ubisoft.

2. Actually, aside from the number of creatures, there is nothing really substantial enough to the point of requiring a correction in light of what really happens in the final product.

3. Ubi may want to let it run, even if wrong cause they cannot/wnt not to react to every gaming story.

4. Ubi may want to let the upcoming E3 buzz bury this little snippet of info anyways so they are not reacting.

5. It may well be correct.

I dunno. What I can tell you for sure though is that THIS Board is read by Ubi/Nival. Trust me on that.

However, guys like Fabrice cannot come straight in the open and answer questions and right wrongs. That would kill their marketing scheme (however you want to judge it efficient or not) and also lock them up with promises that may be difficult to implement after that.

So my best advice here is to maintain meaningful discussions and believe that whatever we say will get listened to (read). That in no means signify that designers will actually 'implement' what we tell them, but on undecided questions, you bet thay are going to listen to us intently.
