I ordered il2 46 yesterday after getting tired of playing fe 1918. I was going to buy fs10 but i saw il2 46 and decided to get it, because the people in this community says its a great game.

The above is a graphical glitch i presume, so im thinking this might happen with my game when it arrives.
Why do the bullet effects turn out like that and what is causing them and ati or nvidia card because i have an x1600xt and i dont want that to happen to my game.

hi FE pilot
It is not a glitch at all, and it is not card-dependant
This is called 'arcade mode', and it's a setting in your configuration file. You can turn it on or off
Default is "off"- this won't show up unless you edit the file and allow it to b displayed
Each of those arrows shows a strike on the target- it's where a bullet hit
Arcade mode will also dsiplay the 'state' of AI aircraft. In all honesty, I'm surprised that it's not shown in that pic, and I imagine this is why the pic was posted somewhere- with that type of damage, a little blurb with the text "Im RTB'ing!" should be above the plane with the arrows in it
Seems to me this pic was used to illustrate a potential damage model issue
Regardless, this is not something to worry about http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif it's an on-purpose feature that you can manually turn on if you like<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Open the conf.ini file from your IL2 46 directory search for this entry:
[game]
Arcade=0
...
It should be 1 in your file, set it to zero to turn it off.
Here's a usefull guide for the conf.ini.
