Getting grunts/mercs to hold a weapon doesn't work anymore, need help

whenever I got to the mercenary library in archetype enity, I press grunt M4 and place him on the map but he doesn't have a weapon. It doesn't show the weapon at all. Please Help.

go to the top and select the mission and you'll find equipment packs. Make sure the pack name has the same name as the weapon as the AI entity is holding.
