I'm looking for a new squad. I love the guys I fly with, but it's too disorganised for me. As a result, I want to (and two others as well) find a new squadron. I love flying the Russian junk. The other two like American planes. I'll like 'em too when they come out with a flyable P-51. I do like the P-39, but find the modelling of the P-47 to be poor. I doubt they will ever give it realistic modelling in this game so I don't like to fly it.
One of the other guys that wants to switch squadrons cannot fly cockpit on due to frames per second loss on his weak system. He can't afford the upgrades right now and so he's looking for a squadron that is not cockpit on. He has cable service and gets good pings all the time. He is good at making skins and has extensive knowledge in map making. He is about 40 year old and is an ex-airforce mechanic.
The second one is in his twenties and is good at making maps. He loves the bucke... I mean the P-47 and wants a balance between serious effort and fun. He also wants some organized training and not something that gets thown together at the last moment. He has a respectable computer and connects by satelite (this is his weak point). He lives out in the sticks and this is the best option available to him.
I'm in it for the fun, not the points. Even though I have a computer that can easily do the cockpit on thing and cable service; I'll probably go where these two guys go. I usually fly the LA-7 if given a chance. None of us have much experience with the German planes. I'm looking for a group that is proud of the American planes without bashing or excluding people of other nations. I am 44 years old and grew up on a wheat and cattle operation. We had a converted P-51 for dusting and I got my first pilot's rating before I had a driver's license.
All of us don't want a group that requires the "yes Sir" crap. We all know who top dog is and good leaders don't need their ego massaged every sentence. I got out of the Army in 1980 and like it that way! I don't know how unusual a post is like this, but I'd sure like some advice on groups that will fit all three of us.
Oh yeah, short of creating a new account, is there any way that I can lose the 310th from my IL-2 forum name and just leave it Luckyboy?

Well we are currently looking for soem regular pilots. We are a USAAF group and use all settings including no cockpit and icons to full real just depends on who we are flying with/against. But our most common settings are no pit, icons, padlock and everything else checked as we want to be open to everybody that want's to fly. While we are mainly a Jug squad, we don't care what plane you enjoy as long as you have fun and use 361st markings. Check out our site and chat one of us up on HL.

Phist25:
I checked out your site. Very impressive about the respect for history and the organized training. Problem is, there is no e-mail address so I can ask you a few more questions. Remember, if you are going to post an e-mail address here; make sure it's like a junk e-mail address that you can create on yahoo or hotmail so some joker here won't sign you up for spam from hell on a good e-mail account!

Luckyboy,
I had originally decided NOT to address this issue publicly as you have so done. For one thing it's not polite, and some would even consider it out right disrespectful. If you or the other 2 ppl had issues you should have brought that to someone's attention and a possible salotuin could have been made possible. However you have endeavored to blast myself and our squad in public. If there was a problem then you should have spoken up. instead you kept it to yourself. and didn't bother to inform anyone.
The fact is that I bust my azz for the 310th. I do 90% of EVERYTHING that is done for this squad. From the web site to the forums, to 70% of all the squad skins. I work on average 20+ hours a week for the squad and have even put my personal life on hold many times to make squad nights, and update the web site & stuff. If you were not happy with the 310th then you should have came to me in privet and said so. I would have been more than happy to help you in any way I could. And I would have gladly sent a letter of recommendation to any Squadrons CO you chose to join.
My point is there is a better way to handle these things than you have chosen. And your behavior after your resignation is deplorable & something that I'm sure other squadrons will take into consideration regarding your application for membership. Never the less I and the other members of the 310th wish the 3 of you best of luck in your future endeavors.
Happy trails. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Copperhead, you gave up any right to privacy in this matter when you deleted our resignations in the 310th private forum less than 12 hours after they were posted. It simply read," I love you guys in the 310th, but let's face it, we are going nowhere as a group". "As a result, I now resign effective today and place myself on detached duty". Nothing more was said and my post was by far the harshest thing said.
You were also one of the first to offer his friendship and guidance in HyperLobby. For that, you gained my loyalty. You were, are now, and always will be my friend! I will not discuss here my reasoning for leaving the squad here and now to protect the privacy and confidence of all involved. You are an honest flyer who doesn't even know how to think of cheating and I wish you, Dmac, Gypsy and all the other irregulars of the 310th the very best. I look forward to being shot down by you in HyperLobby near future!
