After testing the waters on a few local places selling Halo 2 at midnight. I decided I'd much rather spend the time leveling my BRD in FFXI, than trying to get a game I'm not guaranteed to get (which is my own fault of course.. but I'm not a Halo fanboy so that doesn't bother me one bit).

The icing on the cake for me was a call to a local Wal-Mart, listed on the Xbox site as the only non-reservation store opening at midnight. I asked what's up with Halo 2's release and severely confused the lady who answered. She then went to talk to someone else, and I hear in the background, "No!...No No No No No!!!". Not until 6am she tells me. I started boiling inside... It sounded like some punk yuppie manager decided he's not staying 'til midnight (this particualy Wal-Mart is not a 24-hour variety) for a video game.

So instead I will be getting my vehicle properly registered like a good boy, and playing FFXI.

Good luck to all of you playing tonight. I'll join you this weekend hopefully.

Just a suggestion, but if there are any 24 hour Wal-Marts that -aren't- listed on the midnight madness page, I'd give those a shot. I've picked up plenty of stuff at midnight on release day at Wal-Marts (Woo. Go working graveyard - up while everyone else is sleeping.)

Awww that sucks. I do think everyone will have extras tho, i mean they had all the preorders and will order more then those. Most of the people waiting WILL be the preorders!

The problem with that would be driving much further distances.. illegally. I'm paranoid enough as it is. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I'm fine with sitting out tonight.. really... Plus I'm really in the mood to feed my FFXI addiction.

I just hope someone will take the time to show me the ropes when I do get it.

Also of note, playing Donkey Konga when in a bad mood is great therapy.
