I know this question has been asked to death but I can't fix it!!! Anyway, GRAW 2 either freezes with the "sky screen" or it just freezes on whatever frame its on. The game still run as when I clicked I heard my weapon go off.
Now the fixes I heard were setting "max frames to render ahead" to 0 which I did with RivaTuner, yet it still freezes. I'm up Mission 2 of Act 2 and it seems to get worse.
My specs:
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
1 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6200 256 MB V RAM
Nvidia Forceware 162.18 (WHOL)
Latest DirectX 9.0c (Aug 2007)
Please, I need help, I kinda like this game so I need a more permanent fix!!!

Depending on what settings you are trying to play the game, try this:
Stop unnecessary background processes when trying to play the game (messenger, chats, outlook, word, etc, etc,), put everything on low, 800 x 600 video res, turn DYNAMIC SHADOWS to LOW or DISABLE IT on the Main Menu Video Advance Options and try again.
1GB is low for this game, 2GB would be optimal, also, your card is a bit long in the tooth already so you might be maximazing everything just to run the game.

i'm not running that many background programs, i shut off my antivirus whenever i play games. and I'm not even pushing this game at max. I'm running at a modest resolution (1024*768), medium textures, anisotrophic filtering 4x, effects medium (i think), dynamic shadows and dynamic lights OFF, and post effects low. My temp stays around 40 degrees to 50 degrees C. Man what a waste, I was hoping for a big improvement with GRAW 2 (which there was) but with all these problems I might have to reinstall. Or upgrade my video card SOON!!!

there is...lol
get another gig of ram, and make sure it's paired.....
and try updating your graphic card anything newer than what you have now (with 256 mb memory, if possible ddr3)
Good luck
