I am just saying Ninja Knight needs to be fair. HE talked a great deal of trash about the 360 before he had one. Now he is getting mad becuase people are talking trash about PS3 before it is out. Hypocrite I say! WE all know the real reason is that Ninja is a PS3 fan boy.

In order for this to be a debate, we'd have to have something to compare. What we have is one piece of actual (not so) mass produced hardware lined up against pure Vaporware. I'll go ahead and be skeptical of the PS3 and all of Sony's claims about it's cutting edge, cornerstone of the future, won't get laid without one.

Look, I'll get one. Maybe not right away if it costs a grand, but I will get one. Sony has great 3rd party support, and it will have fun games. That is all I really care about.

Until I can line up the hardware PHYSICALLY, any comparrison is conjecture IMO.

Rumor has it that the Atari Liger will be the BEST, ever. I'm an Atari fanboy, ok. But listen!

Whatever X-Box 360 has, it is TRIPLE the processing power! It has 8 controller ports! Built-in wi-fi capability! Plus it has a machine in the back dock that gives off smoke, and it is plated with mirrors. It's very shiny.

What makes me sad, however, is that Atari isn't showing what the Atari Liger looks like, to the public. Heck, an insider from Area 55 told me that nobody is even testing the **** thing.

How can they release this!? I am getting very very worried. If I can't see it, maybe it's just a box! No matter. I'm an Atari fanboy. I am buying it, and it'll be the BEST!~1

I am fair, I have a 360 and I may have at times discussed it's flaws and also its good points, however anything I may have said about 360 is vastly overwhelmed by the vehement hatred which I see any time the PS3 is mentioned.

There is no reason to dislike the PS3 so much, Sony do have some experience in making consoles, in fact it was the original Playstation that was responsible in a large way for making games the mainstream pursuit that they are today. The Ps3 isn't perfect, nothing is. It will probably be too expensive for many gamers at its release and I would like to see more in-game footage, but overall the PS3 is a highly impressive machine. Also, whether or not the PS3's online service will succeed is unclear, although I thnk it will be well supported.

I am happy to see Sony use the Blu-ray drive in PS3, I was surprised to see Microsoft stick with standard DVD for the 360, many memebers of the development community, including Team Ninja's Itagaki, have expressed diappointment at the decision. There are already games in production for 360 which span multiple DVDs such as the RPG's from Mistwalker. I think Blu-Ray is a good medium for games and it will also serve as a great next-gen movie player.

It's a bit early to tell which console will have the best line-up of games, but the 360's very underwhelming Japanese launch does not bode well for future support from Japanese developers beyond titles that have already been announced. It time we will see what both consoles can achieve, however , Sony are by far the dominant force in gaming worldwide and I think it would be foolish to discount them so easily. Also, about the control pad, you can't knock it till you've used it, whatever pad comes with PS3 will be well tested.

I'm not going to really say anything bad about the PS3 since we haven't really seen that much of it.

My only big complaint about it right now & the real reason why I just don't really care about it is the games. I have yet to see even one game that I care about, whereas I already own 11 games for the Xbox 360 (plus 3 arcade games) & I've got a bunch more on my list for the next few months.

Now that's an excellent idea. I wouldn't mind waiting till the end of the year to play the second love in all my life with some wonderful new silky sexy graphics and new added innovative game play.

The 360 is already going down a storm in the U.S and UK... and with Microsofts strategy of drip feeding the consoles to customers people just crave them more. But yeh, it still won't pick up in Asia.

The revolution will dominate in Asia... They simply love thier nintendo and nintendo themselves know they could survive with the Asian market alone. The U.S also take kindly to Ninty's magic but it's the UK that bothers me.

I'm rather excited about the revolution, i think nintendo's new controller is really interesting and i want to see if it works.

PS3 - meh, the huge amount of hubub with no actual information pisses me off far more than anything else (well except those stubborn fanboys...grrr).
I will probably only be getting the x360, but hey, considering my last console WAS atari...

Well, there really isn't a whole lot to comment on for the PS3 side yet. Very little has been confirmed.

The things I've heard that I don't like are the lack of an online system such as live and the rumored price tag. Those 2 things together will likely either prevent or delay me in purchasing one.

For me.....the specs were what made me go with XBOX over Playstation2. What is keeping me with XBOX360 over PLaystation3 is XBOX Live. Unless PLaystation3 unviels a live set-up that can compete with XBOXLive, I wouldn't really care if it had a little more horse power or what not over XBOX 360.

It's all about kicking *** online.

Well, sombody's gotta play devil's advocate here.

Okay, first of all, nearly every PS3 still pic I've seen pretty much buries graphically every 360 still pic I've seen. Period. There might be a few exceptions--Bubble Bobble PS3 or whatever isn't going to bury Gears of War on the 360, but on almost every game I've seen pics of(a bunch), the PS3 version is better looking than the 360 version. Unless there is a conspiracy of massive proportions, the PS3 is going to be a more powerful machine.

After seeing the demo, I want to play MGS on this thing, and I hate stealth games--much like I wanted to play Halo on X-Box and I couldn't stand FPS's at the time.

Blu-Ray is an incredible perk--I love movies, and I think Blu-Ray may win the format wars. It certainly has a chance. Also, the fact that it holds more information than a standard disc means more texture information, etc. Again, better looking games.

As for the boomerang controller, I am going to at least TOUCH it before I decide whether it's uncomfortable or not.

As for LIVE, meh. Halo 2 has been out for over a year, and although I really do have fun playing it, there are still plenty of hackers, cheaters and general griefers out there. I think I probably have more fun playing off-line, although I probably play on-line more because the matches are over quickly so I can play a couple of rounds before I go out or something. But it's not something I need in a console.

As for price, I think we actually have to hear a price point before we judge, although you can make up your own price and then get angry about it if you want. Here, I'll start. "I heard that the PS3 is going to cost 2 million dollars! In cash! That's an outrageous price to pay for a videogame machine!"

I beg to differ about your perspective on the changing importance online multiplayer play. Although you feel that the need for this online play is dwindling, I think it is the new driving force with the three lead companies. A good sign of this is Nintendo's change of views towards this market. If you look at their stance at it with the Gamecube (yes, although hard to notice, Nintendo did have some support for online use, but they openly hated the online concept) and compare it with their plans with the Revolution, there is a big difference.

Times have changed, and I feel (atleast for the time being) that the PS3 just won't have the same extent of support that Microsoft currently offers unless they just blantantly rip-off Live like two brands of the same cereal.

I'm no too worried about which consloes better. I'll probably buy both. Simply because there's games that appear on one console that won't on the other.


But just to give my opinion it would have to be XBOX. The online options can't and won't be touched by anything Sony produces until Sony wakes up and starts charging for online services. Which with Sony doing this the gamers that subscribe to it will want more then what they have now.

I ended up purchasing all three consoles of the previous generation, and I plan on doing the same this time around. What's funny is, I'm doing so for almost the exact same reasons:

Xbox 360: like the original Xbox, I've got to get one for online play.

PS3: whereas I rushed to preorder a PS2 when DVD playback was announced, Blu-Ray support is what's currently drawing me to PS3.

Nintendo Revolution: Mario, Zelda, need I say more? First party software excellence is simply expected from Nintendo.
