I got one too after my first patrol out of Caviti. Sank three freighters, two with deck gun only, never got shot at or depth charged. Ducked all task forces (not wise to attack a task force with an S-Boat).

I thought the Wounded Medal (Purple Heart) was for wounds received, or is it just given as a token for the first successful patrol?

yeah but i dont know why i got a patrol off hokkaido sank one medium gun boat and two merchants and no damage??!! so i dont know why the wounded medal. but i llike that pre mission where do you wish to start question.now i feel like playing a new game.

I had the same thing once....I found the choice of medals a bit weird too.

First patrol, 2 days ago or so, Sneeked into Tokyo bay. A risky move....but the Kongo class BB just sitting there made up for the risks. So I downed a nice BB and a couple of merchants, worth about 50.000 tonnes all together.
