In this thread you can post one thing you hate about gaming companies, try not to name them if you can as i don't want to get in trouble http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

Post a fact that you don't like about them and lets keep this going to get everyone;s opinions

Ill start,

1. When you get a connection error when it goes 'please check your network' when its the servers fault and they're blaming it on you! seems very underhand to me that they're lieing about they're faulty servers.

I hate lazy developers who don't patch their games. Selling a flawed product is the norm in the computer games business today, but they should fix their errors asap after release. That's why I love the game company Paradox, their games are sold to a niche market, but they keep patching and adding features for years after a game is released.

I Agree, i've seen a definite decline in gaming the past year. The games turnover so fast these days the sequels are out in less than a year which leads to rushed games and overall a poor finish

Well, truth be told, the quality of released games has been declining for years now. The only differance is that the rate of the decline has picked up somewhat lately. But I think it's important to make a distinction between balancing issues and plain bugs. I'm fine with post-release balancing tinkering, because that must be one of the most difficult things to achieve. I am not, however, fine with games that get released with beta stage, and reported, bugs still in them. That's pure greed and a tells of a very degrading view of the consumers.

Im becoming afraid to play some games online lately, the constant freezing of my ps3 (have to turn off manually) and the very choppy gameplay doesnt seem up to the PS3's 'superior graphics' title.

This all makes me feel that one day such a poor game may come out that it will break/brick my ps3, as the way things are headed. One of the Battlefield series has already bricked my ps3 and luckily the warranty covered it so im skeptical to try things that seem to come out of nowhere :s

I just don't understand how a game can break a console. Are certain games more prone to do so than others? By the way, I took my 360 back to where I bought it because it fecked my game cd's one too many times, and got a ps3 instead. So far so good, but it's only been a year so perhaps I'm celebrating a bit too soon.

I switched to Xbox gaming from PC gaming because I was tired of dealing with patches and configuration issues.

Now Xbox publishers are taking the PC "publish-n-patch" approach because they have access to XBL. They shove half-finished products out the door with known problems and then "promise" to fix things later (still waiting for the Bad Company clan patch...yeah, right).

People used to joke about "the check is in the mail" to describe someone who's not going to come through. I suppose we could now say "the patch is in progress".

But the worse it gets the more it will hurt the companies. After some recent experiences with certain companies there's no way I would buy something from them on release day. I'll wait not for reviews but postings from real gamers on various forums and then decide to buy or not.
