1.What is this game?

This is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting game in the vein of Super Smash Bros for both the Wii and the PS2. You play with up to 3 other fighters on the screen at once from a side view. You can pick up items (ninja powers) and use them, but the similarities stop there. Instead of using A for regular attacks and B for special attacks, they are reassigned to weak and strong attacks and you can actually chain together combos. Not many of us have had a chance to play it yet, but from what we’ve seen, this will have a much deeper fighting system than the previous smash brothers games.

2.Who’s Making This Game?

Ubi-soft, Game Arts, and some former Team Ninja members are behind it. It's advertised as being from the creators of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. So if you’re thinking this is a rip-off of Brawl, this was actually made by the same people, but without a lot of the restrictions that come with using Nintendo characters.

3.When is it coming out?

According to the dates given at gamefaqs.com, which are usually pretty accurate:
These are the release dates for both the Wii and PS2 versions.
US 9-22-09
AU 9-24-09
EU The release date was 9-25-09 but has since been pushed back to some time in October… although this has not officially been confirmed by Ubi-soft, several gaming publications have listed this.

4.What game modes are there?

*Arcade Mode*
Pick your hero and begin on an adventure to take down the evil Shredder.
This will be the game’s story mode. It will utilize comic book like cut scenes drawn by some of the original tmnt comic artists.

*Battle Royale*
It’s time for an all out brawl. Setup and play matches with one to four players. This is where you’ll spend the meat of your time with your friends.

*Survival Mode*
No rules. No Teams. Just survive. Defeat your opponents

*Swap Out*
Participate in three- to eight-player matches where players take turns switching out.

*Tournament*
Participate in two- to eight-player tournaments.

*Nintendo WFC*
Test your skills online. We don’t yet know how much customizing you can do with game modes, or how well the online mode will work. We just know that there will be one.

*Bonus Content*
View unlocked items and 25th anniversary bonus content such as tmnt comic book covers and other artwork.

Special move: Unknown

There will be 5 to 7 other not yet shown characters. It is not yet known if the Rabbids are being included in the count, or if there will be more than one Rabbid. That is the reason for the discrepancy.

Leatherhead was also confirmed?!

No, he wasn’t. You’re referring to the ‘reviewer’ from 1up and the list they read during their 1up game night. That was not an official document from ubi-soft. It was probably something they printed off of wiki-pedia. I’m not saying he’s not one of the characters. But he has not had an official confirmation.

6.What are the stages?

Cruise Ship
Dojo
Enemy Base
Garbage Dump
Japanese Castle
Jungle
Manhattan Rooftops
Sewer
Space Lab
Train
Turtle Base
Underground (w/ technodrome)
Warehouse
Western Town

These are probably all the stages in the game. They were leaked early through a slip up on the official site.

7.What controllers can I use?

You can use all controller combinations on the Wii. That includes the Wii remote, the Wii remote and Nunchuck, the Gamecube controller, and the virtual console controller.

8. Can I turn off that glow?

Yes, the glow can be turned off and customized, although we do not yet know how much customization can be done.

9. Where can I get more information?

10. Anything Else?

That’s about it. You know about as much as I do now. There are some good videos that you can see on various websites such as gamespot, ign, and youtube that will give you a good idea about what this game has in store for you. If it is not in this guide than we don’t know it yet. So if you have questions about the music and other stuff, we don’t know it yet. Feel free to elaborate on anything you feel was important that I might have left out and I will incorporate it into this faq. I tried to hit all of the stuff that we keep on being asked and will try to update this as new info arises.

It's not being developed by the creators of Super Smash Bros Brawl. That would be Sora ltd. It's being developed by Game Arts which helped with Brawl.

But the rest is pretty good :3

This. Except it shouldn't actually do anything. It should just be a taunt. That's right, a special move that is just a taunt. Y'know, just to underscore how much he sucks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That's too kind, Turtlefreak.

That move should cause the Rabbid to hurt itself. 1/4 health bar shall do. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh, I agree. I'd actually rather have the Rabbids than any other Ubisoft character, but they are so much fun to pick on.

EDIT: Tenor, I didn't see this on your FAQ, so forgive me if it's already there, but... I think you should add that the color of the character glows can be changed and even turned off. This question still gets asked about as much as what controllers the game supports.

CrankWhiteYeti

i guess they are.
they might not even be in the game. because that was just a japan expo, which means by the time the game comes out they could have removed the rabbid(s)

You're right, I'll add the color thing as well as the other recommended improvements soon.

no rabbids, please! Any, and I mean any, Ubisoft character other than the rabbids would work better in this game. Sorry but to have a joke character like that for a game like this is a waste, and that's what we don't need right now is a game with wasteful content. TMNT franchise is choke full of it. STOP THE MADNESS UBISOFT!
