Congratulations to the BundesMarine [is that what the German navy is called today?]

Now the pieces for "Fall Beiber" are beginning to come together. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Excellent, those type 212 boats rock.

Which port is that taking place in?

Do they still have ports from WW2 still in service today?

Herr Kaleun Brandt might want to take a few notes out of the attitude book, before he sinks his crew.

I regard myself a VERY perceptive person , and can sum up people within a second or 2 of meeting them. Somehow I can decifer a photograph (Herr Brandt), and I can say that he might be educated in the art of submarine naval warfare, but he will never be a true Kaleun, he will make too many mistakes.

Sorry just my opinion...

I wish my country would buy some U-boats. Or perhaps start building them. I wouldnt hesitate to leave medical school to apply for the new submarine service http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif. Even if we had a decent air force, but we only have 10 30yearold F-5E and F http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif.

But there are elections for president this year, maby he will do something about it? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, is the german submarine technology still the most advanced? And how big is the german U-boat force this days?

Within non-nuclear u-boat technology in terms of silence, endurance ,propulsion, sonar and weapon systems definitly , without any doubt http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The type 212 class is the only non-nuclear boat in the world that would be able to cross the arctic ice pack http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Some people are speculating that this is also the reason why the rudder planes have been placed on the conning tower instead of the hull. (Improved ice breaking capability for surfacing in regions with thick ice) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif But im not sure if this has really something to do with it.

But its just a very small fleet (But heh its deep peace in europe http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

Bundesmarine translates into English as Federal Navy (which is not much sense). Deutsche Marine sounds indeed much better and sounds more accurate.

U-32 is back from its first 2 month long patrol and reaches the Emden shipyards.

******ss is beeing called for a new entry into their books.

During its patrol and participation in the NATO operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR , U-32 became the first non-nuclear submarine in history that stayed submerged for more than 2 weeks without the need for using its snorkel http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It also looks like theyâ´ve painted something on their conning tower. I will look if i can get some better pics to see what it is. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here is what wikipedia says :

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Kapitänleutnant is the third lowest officer's rank in the German Navy.

The U.S. Navy's rank of Lieutenant is equal to Kapitänleutnant in NATO's military hierarchy. Nevertheless, a Kapitänleutnant (colloquial abbreviation: Kaleu) may command smaller ships (e.g. submarines) giving the rank responsibilities more along those of a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S or Royal Navies.

It should not be forgotten, that the German Navy operates only Diesel electric submarines, which are much smaller than the nuclear powered submarines of the USA and the UK. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Okay...that clears it up...he'd be like a company commander in the US Army. And as your article says we don't allow Navy LTs to command much in our navy. He looked young so I was curious. He needs to spend so time at the Gym and get eye surgery! A commander must have some physical bearing and a lot of wit.

You should see that guy that commands one of our patrol boats.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I will see if i can find the vid.

He looks like he belongs into diapers but not into an uniform. And has the rank Korvettenkapitän http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

His crew consists of men that are much older than him. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Looks like one of these academy hotshots you know... or daddy has propably much influence....

Did you had the old or the new method ??

New method = They dont need to open the front part of the (what is Hornhaut in english) ?? anymore... The new lasers can do it without that cutting stuff....

Which doesnt make it a real surgery anymore. It takes only 20 minutes and you dont need to wear those sunglasses after that anymore. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif The healing process takes only 24 hrs. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Here on the pic you see what i mean with Hornhaut....

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1527/300pxauge5be.png

I would really like to make it but it costs up to 4500 Euros here.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

What is it like ?

P.s: Here is the vid with the youngster...

I got PRK -- Photo Refractive Keratotomy:

http://www.webmd.com/content/article/64/72260

They actually scrub off your entire "Hornhaut" so the laser can burn (actually evaporate) the "linse"

my service only allows this since it heals more homogeneously (solidly). More popular in the USA now is LASIK, where they cut away and reuse the "hornhaut" (English: Cornea), the problem with that is if you do deep sea diving or High Altitude skydiving the scar may burst http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

KorvetteKapitan Liche does look pretty young, mid 30s, but he looks like he knows what he's doing. Cool uniforms by the way!
