Hi, i have lock on 1.02 and i wanted to know if you could help me with my decision on buying a joystick
right now i have Wingman Force 3D
the money ain't a problem for me, i just need advice on what's REAL GOOD joystick for lock on
i was thinking of latest Logitech joystick or Saitek x52 Pro

2nd question is about my graphics settings
in-game i have all settings high/on and x4 AA
the cockpit: 120 view angle and reflections
to have less lagg i put Visible RNG to low and no mirrors
does the RNG set to low make me lose lot of quality? do you have ideas on better configs?

thanks for help!

Most folks aagree the X52 is a good stick and value for money.

You just have to experiment with OPTIONS to get a mix of settings that suit you to give maximum eye candy yet playable FPS. All depends on the type of missions you fly. If you are 90% of your time at 30,000ft doing air-to-air then that is a lot different to flying at 300ft doing air-to-ground with a big bunch of tanks and SAM's in the mission.

Water is a FPS killer. Unless you plan to fly low over the water a lot, turn it down. I run on Water Low. I might turn it up to get a nice screenshot but that's it. There are Mods for making the water look a little bit prettier when set to Low / Medium settings. Check the usual Community sites.

Most folks run with Civ traffic off as having it ON means hundreds of vehicles / trains all over the map. I only switch it on if I want to see the moving trains (they are fun to hunt down).

Shadows - I have Active planar. I think tha just gives you shaodoe of moving objects and leaves out the rest. means I can see shadow of aircraft on the ground, that can help sometimes, but it misses out drawing shadows of buildings etc.

I have mirrors off (you can always make them temporarily pop back up by pressing M or N and holding the key for as long as you need the mirror).

I have reflections off too.

Heat blur off, as my average rig cant take it.

now i'm thinking of the x52 and x52 pro
hope the pro is worth it

well in the readme file said heat blur is not compatible with AA...guess that was for older vid cards cause i don't have problems with it...takes some fps that's for sure but its ok
the Vis. RNG is only thing i have on low, i don't see less game quality...or am i wrong

thx for your help brit!
