So I just got a Cyborg Evo Force, installed the drivers no problem, Windows detects the joystick just fine, and I can calibrate it when I select it under Game Controllers --> Properties.

However, it's pretty much useless in IL2. The buttons work just fine, but that's it. No X or Y axis, no rudder, no throttle, I can't move the plane whatsoever. Going into the Hardware Setup menu reveals that the "Joystick Axis" drop-down menu is greyed-out. All I can adjust is the mouse sensitivity.

I've already downloaded the latest drivers for the joystick from Saitek's website. I've read on here that IL2 will only detect the device that is listed first under Control Panels --> Game Controllers? Is that true? How could I make my joystick first in the list? How can I make IL2 detect the joystick fully? Thanks much!

Can you go to this screen and make the assignments there?

Me thinks you need to fire up IL2Setup.exe, and goto the 'Joystick' tab there, and put a checkmark next to the 'Use Joystick' option.
