dont even go there hoobler. my granfather served his time in North Africa in the 1st infantry division. he made it through kasserine pass. it doesnt matter how long they were there, the fact is, they were there PERIOD.

The U.S. Army suffered 18,000+ casualties in the short time they fought in Africa. That includes 2,715 killed. I'm sure those 2,715 G.I.'s would take exception to the contention that they "barely fought", as would the veterans of the 1st Armored Division, 1st, 9th, and 34th Infantry Divisions, the 1st Ranger Battalion, and various other units who saw action there.

I would suggest the book "An Army At Dawn" if you would like to further your knowledge on what was a very bitter, if short campaign.
