View Full Version : How do you make the mods?

I see a few topics here about mod making. I was just wondering what the intension is. Are you just planning to make a map in the style you like or is it a real modification to the game? I've heard a mapping tool is coming but haven't read anything about an SDK. Maybe you know more about this?
So this is not really a question about the technical detials of mod making. I already know how that works (and also will participate in making one).

yeah, if it is going to be a total modification, you will need programmers, skinners etc and other tools and programs such as 3d studio max, maya etc. trying to make a mod by yourself would be awfully hard! thats why you need dedicated team members.
i will be designing and making my own maps for bia http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
they should be releasing a SDK for this game, also because apperently it has the moddible unreal engine. thats what i 'heard'

it is the UnrealEngine
when you start up the game, at the very bottom it says
'Copyright 1996-2004 UnrealEngine'
something like that. UnrealEngine is definitely in it though

I can join yes. But is still do not know what to program. What language for example? Is it pure scripting or a C(++) variant? I read that it will be very easy to modify BiA. But is still don't know how, i haven't found any information about that.

How well can you model?? we will worry about programing at a later time.

I still have to practice al lot, so i'd better leave the modelling to someone else. But i can make some nice things. I learned it mostly at school but at home i haven't done too much modelling. My interest is mostly in programming now, but i chose my study because i liked modelling.
